Ben Affleck Got Into It With A Dude Who Was Trying To Get A Selfie With JLo

Venice, Italy is named after the ancient Veneti people. And the name Veneti is derived from the Proto Indo-European root word, wen, which means “to strive for, to wish for, to love.” For Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, the thing they strive for, wish for, and love unconditionally is sweet, sweet attention. See: their stunt queen antics at the Venice Film Festival… the PDA-filled water taxi entrance, JLo’s photoshoot in a gondola, and Friday night’s official red carpet debut at the premiere of Ben’s new film, The Last Duel.

Unfortunately, with good attention comes the bad. And Bennifer encountered some bad at Venice’s Marco Polo airport on their way out of the city. A maskless fan approached the couple, got up in their personal space, and tried taking a selfie with JLo. She backed away, Ben lightly pressed the man’s chest, and their bodyguard (the intense-looking dude in the above pic) pushed the selfie seeker off to the side. The whole thing was over within seconds, but a bunch of headlines read, “Ben Affleck Valiantly Defends JLo From Crazy Fan!” Dude was rude and creepy, yes, but crazy? Hard to say. It probably didn’t help that he strongly resembles Italian Charles Manson.

Here’s the video of the encounter:

Once their bodyguard defused the situation, Bennifer kept calm and carried on, saying goodbye to fans as they walked into the airport. Italian Manson ran off. He was never seen again.

If I was Bennifer’s bodyguard, I’d be more than a little pissed that all these headlines claimed that Ben was the one to fight off this “crazed fan.” This man puts his life on the line, and the pretty-boy A-list actor is getting all the credit? Psh. The system is broken, people! Give the bodyguard and his Dracula hairline some love!
