Bob Odenkirk Is Back On The Set Of “Better Call Saul”
Today in totally happy/non-cynical news, Bob Odenkirk is back on the set of Better Call Saul! 58-year-old Bob’s return to work comes six weeks after he suffered a mild heart attack while shooting the show’s sixth season in New Mexico. This morning he tweeted a photo of himself getting his makeup done, and wrote,“Back to work on Better Call Saul! So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people.” D’awwww. I don’t even watch that show and his tweet gave me heart feelings. Such is the power of a non-asshole man in Hollywood.
Here’s Bob’s tweet:
Back to work on Better Call Saul! So happy to be here and living this specific life surrounded by such good people. BTW this is makeup pro Cheri Montesanto making me not ugly for shooting! pic.twitter.com/lTAfPg7dDp

All of the responses to the tweet were supportive and positive, making this the first time ever that Twitter has agreed on anything. A truly amazing feat.
I’m happy Bob has recovered from his health scare. Last month he really scared us after his collapse, especially when his Breaking Bad co-star Bryan Cranston posted that we should all pray for him. Americans asking for prayers is almost always a terrible sign. So it was a huge relief when Bob’s son, Nate Odenkirk, tweeted that his father was gonna be OK. Days later Bob tweeted that he’d had a small heart attack, but his doctors had fixed the blockage without surgery. He announced he was going to “take a beat to recover,” but he’d be back soon. A week later he tweeted:
I am doing great. I’ve had my very own “It’s a wonderful life” week of people insisting I make the world slightly better. Wow! Thank you, I love everyone right now but let’s keep expectations reasonable!

And a few days later this:
Just had a walk with my pal Michael Mando. I keep getting good energy, hugs, love, from everyone, strangers, old friends…and then there's the field of dreams game. I can't take all this goodness at once, but I guess I'll have to. Hope you are having a great day today.

So Bob is officially back to work on Better Call Saul’s final season, which should air sometime in 2022. Hmmm, I wonder if having a heart attack will affect Bob’s performance. Will Saul suddenly begin tearing up in every scene and thanking his friends for their love and support? Or is that already something the character does? Again, I’m unfamiliar with Better Call Saul, and I’ve never seen Breaking Bad, despite the efforts of every cisgender straight male in my life. Sorry boys, my Real Housewives schedule is hectic enough!
