Drake Drags Kanye West And Comes Out As A Lesbian On His New Album, “Certified Lover Boy”
Drake’s sixth album, Certified Lover Boy, finally dropped at midnight. Jay-Z, Travis Scott, Future, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Kid Cudi, and Lil Baby all appear on the album. No, not DaBaby, Lil Baby. DaBaby the Homophobe is Kanye West’s best buddy. And speaking of Yeezy, Drake comes for his longtime nemesis/album release rival on his track, 7am On Bridle Path. In case you’re not Toronto-street-smart (snort), the Bridle Path is the fanciest, most expensive neighborhood in all of Canada. Residents include Celine Dion, Gordon Lightfoot, and a bunch of uber-wealthy Bay Street-types (our Wall Street). So at 7am it’s probably just nannies pushing rich babies in strollers, Gordon Lightfoot on a walk with his morning chamomile, and Drake brainstorming clever ways to insult Kanye.
On the track, Drake comes for Kanye and his Yeezy brand with these lyrics:
Told you I’m aimin’ straight for the head
Now they ‘Amen’ and ‘Please’
I can give a fuck about who designing your sneakers and tees
Had somebody put you on a Gildan and you play with my seed
The Genius lyrics page for this track explains that Gildan is a brand of T-shirts. Apparently putting Kanye “on a Gildan” is referencing how when someone dies they get their portrait put on a t-shirt. So basically, Drake’s saying that if Kanye comes for his “seed” (aka his 3-year-old Adonis), he’ll kill Kanye. 🙂 After that Drake makes a reference to how Kanye recently leaked his Toronto address:
Trust me, there’s some shit you really gotta come see to believe
That’s why your people not believers, they all leavin’ ya
That’s why you buyin’ into the hype that the press feedin’ yaYou know the fourth level of jealousy is called media
Isn’t that an ironic revelation?
Give that address to your driver, make it your destination
‘Stead of just a post out of desperation
Apparently, Kanye’s manager told TMZ this week that Yeezy would be “listening closely” to Drake’s albums for any references to do with him, and “if Drizzy crossed the line it would be war on.” Uh oh, scary! Here’s the song, which sounds exactly like every single Drake song I’ve ever heard:
If you’re all, “Team Drake, cuz at least he doesn’t support problematic creeps like Chris Brown, Marilyn Manson, or DaBaby,” I’ve got bad news for you… R. Kelly gets a songwriting credit on the song TSU since Drake used a sample from his song Half on a Baby. Le Sigh!
Then there’s the Drake track Girls Want Girls, featuring Lil Baby, in which he bravely comes out as a lesbian in the chorus. He raps:
Starin’ at your dress ’cause it’s see-through
Yeah, talkin’ all the shit that you done been through
Yeah, say that you a lesbian, girl, me too.
Later Lil Baby puts his own, more literal spin on Drake coming out, rapping, “She like eating pussy, I’m like, ‘Me too.'” Here’s Girls Want Girls:
And yes, the twelve pregnant emoji ladies is the official album cover for Certified Lover Boy. Some people are saying that this is a reference to the album coming out nine months later than expected, due to Drake’s knee injury. Others joked that the art was an ode to Nick Cannon’s prolific sperm. Hey, both Drake and Nick are united in Kanye hating them, so their “jokes” could very well be correct. Brothers in arms for the upcoming “war.”
