Tom Cruise Ate At An Indian Restaurant And People On Twitter Didn’t Believe It Was Really Him

It’s a generally accepted fact that the high-flying glamour of Hollywood is positively drab and rural when compared to the dazzling lights of Birmingham in England. Still, some people could not believe their eyes when they saw a picture of one of the world’s biggest movie stars, Tom Cruise, standing outside an Indian restaurant having just bang-banged two entire orders of Chicken Tikka Masala while in town filming Mission: Impossible 7. Incredulous people on Twitter asked “who is the shortie with the puffy face?” with many insisting the man was probably one of Tom’s myriad lookalikes. However, according to The Express UK, the shortie with the puffy face was absolutely the one and only Tomothy Cruise!

According to the Express, even mega-stars with God-like powers gotta eat. Tom cannot sustain the incandescent wattage of his billion-dollar smile on operating thetans alone. So Tom visited Asha’s Restaurant, the “Number 1 Indian Finedine Restaurant by Trip Advisor in UAE” in Birmingham over the weekend. Here’s the restaurant’s post about their VIP guest.

Unfortunately, what should have been a great moment for both the restaurant and for Tom (you try eating two orders of Chicken Tikka Masala in one sitting without your heart seizing up on you), devolved into an argument on Twitter that called into question Tom’s propensity for doing all his own stunts.

One wrote: “Is that the real Tom Cruise????”

The restaurant’s social team replied: “Yes, he joined us yesterday evening.”

A second echoed: “Are you sure it’s not his stunt double?”

“That’s a lookalike. Come on,” a third added.

Another penned: “I reckon that’s Cruise.

“He’s obsessed about his height and stages pictures so he doesn’t appear as short as he is – like this one.”

“To be fair, his face really is looking very different recently,” a fifth wrote.

It’s like, come on people! It’s so obviously him. You don’t get a bubble-butt like Tom’s without eating a whole lot of Chicken Tikka Masala. As the gentleman noted above, he earned the nickname Tommy Two Tikkas fair and square. According to Birmingham Live, Tom wasn’t even recognized by many of his fellow patrons.

When the star from Syracuse in New York arrived at 6pm along with five others and a security detail, Tom insisted he should not be treated differently to anybody else.

The group was even happy to sit on a table in the middle of the restaurant.

Their meal was so low key that not everybody inside Asha’s recognised him or was aware they were dining so close to Hollywood royalty.

“Tom asked for it to be served with extra spices and he really liked it.

“Once he’d finished it he ordered a second portion.

It’s surprising he wasn’t recognized, even while seated, since it’s widely known throughout the Birmingham area that Tom and the M:I 7 crew are in town. Birmingham Live reports that the filmmakers were recently shooting at the Birmingham Grand Central train station which had been transformed to stand in for the UAE’s Abu Dhabi airport. In case you’re wondering how things are going. Here’s Tom and his co-star/rumored girlfriend Haley Atwell on set.

What will all the COVID shutdowns and delays, at this rate M:I 7 should be hitting theaters just in time for Shelly Miscavige‘s return from outer space!
