Kaley Cuoco Wants To Buy The Horse Who Was Punched By A Coach At The Olympics

Usually, if you find yourself wanting to whip out your wallet and buy something you saw on television, you might have your TV tuned to HSN or QVC. But Kaley Cuoco wanted to buy one of the horses she saw while watching the 2020 Olympic Summer Games in Tokyo. Although, unlike a classy pink moissanite tennis bracelet displaying stunning craftsmanship for four easy payments of $129.99, Kaley’s equine purchase wasn’t because she thought it was cute, or that she could get a good discount deal on a horse that failed to bring home a medal. Kaley wants to save the horse from any future punches, after watching the horse get punched on live television by a German coach.

On Friday, August 6th, a horse named Saint Boy was competing with his German rider Annika Schleu in the modern pentathlon. According to BBC News, athletes are given 20 minutes to bond with a horse they’ve never previously ridden and guess what, after 20 minutes, Saint Boy wasn’t bonded to his rider, and he refused to jump or trot. Annika had been leading the event before she hopped on Saint Boy, but that all turned to horse apples when Saint Boy didn’t want to perform. Annika was crying while trying to get Saint Boy to do his jumps, and her coach, Kim Raisner, decided to pull a coaching tip out of a playbook she found in the trash can of the set of HBO’s Luck. Because Kim’s solution was to demand Annika “really hit” the horse. Then, as the horse and Annika came close to the fence where Coach Kim was standing, Kim could be seen closed-fist punching the horse in its butt. Modern pentathlon’s governing body reviewed the footage and determined that the horse definitely shouldn’t have been punched. via BBC News:

“Her actions were deemed to be in violation of the UIPM competition rules, which are applied to all recognised modern pentathlon competitions including the Olympic Games,” the governing body said in a statement. “The UIPM Executive Board [EB] has given a black card to the Germany team coach Kim Raisner, disqualifying her from the remainder of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.

That brings us to where Kaley Cuoco fits into all of this. Kaley isn’t just a TV star, but she’s also a horse girl. Kaley and her husband Karl Cook are horse people (she rides for fun, he’s a professional equestrian). Kaley loves horses. She really, really loves them. So much so, that she hopped into her Instagram Stories to slap at Annika and Coach Kim, and offer poor Saint Boy a new home. via People magazine:

“I feel it’s my duty and heart to comment on this disgrace,” Cuoco wrote. “This is not Olympic show jumping. This is a disgusting, classless, abusive representation of our sport in so many ways. This team should be ashamed of themselves.”

Alongside her words were photos of rider Annika Schleu, crying while struggling to get Saint Boy to jump at Friday’s competition. Cuoco went on to address Schleu and coach Kim Raisner, who was disqualified after she was seen hitting the horse on TV.

“You and your team did not do your country proud or this sport. You make us look bad,” Cuoco wrote. “Shame on you and godspeed to any animal that comes in contact with you. Pure classless behavior right here. Disgusting on all levels. This is not our sport. This does not represent our sport. This rider and her ‘trainer’ are a disgrace.”

“I’ll buy that horse outright and show it the life it should have. Name your price.” Later, Cuoco clarified that she “wasn’t kidding,” sharing news stories of her offer.

So far, there’s no word on whether Saint Boy will be sold to Kaley.

Kaley loves horsies, but those kinds of pets are very expensive. Luckily, she’s also got a ton of money, thanks to twelve seasons on The Big Bang Theory (and I assume millions in residuals from the incredible made-for-TV movie, Growing Up Brady). I assume an Olympic horse is one of the most expensive models you can get. But it doesn’t matter, Kaley’s got the cash, and she could totally buy Saint Boy. Personally, I think it would be a good solution. Saint Boy won’t have to live in fear that another Olympian or their coach will pound his ass into schnitzel. And as mentioned before, Kaley is RICH. She can give Saint Boy an ideal home. Well, almost ideal. There is a high probability that one day in the future he’ll find rose petals in his butt crack after Kaley and Karl decide to renew their vows in another lavish over-the-top ceremony in the horse stables. But if that’s the worst thing that happens to his butt, he’s got it made.
