Prince Charles Probably Isn’t Going To Let Prince Andrew Ever Return As A Senior Royal

Prince Andrew is living proof that sometimes it doesn’t matter how rich and powerful your parents are, your never-ending privilege isn’t always able to bail your ass out of a sticky situation. So far it’s saved him from seeing the inside of a jail cell, but it hasn’t done much to save him from going down in history as Queen Elizabeth’s creepiest son. Eventually, The Crown will go to Prince Charles, and for a while, it sounded like the biggest headache Charles was about to inherit was the decision of what to do with Andrew. But thanks to Virginia Giuffre’s recent lawsuit, Charles’ hardest decision will be whether to fire his brother with a phone call or just shout “Bye Andy!” from the palace courtyard.

Prince Andrew claims he was never close friends with Jeffrey Epstein, and that he doesn’t know Virginia Giuffre (then Virginia Roberts), and the picture of them together was Photoshopped. It’s not great for Prince Andrew’s personal brand to be associated with a situation involving a dead pedophile, the dead pedophile’s alleged right-hand lady, and a victim who claims she was raped by him while she was a minor. And as such, he stepped away from his job as a senior royal and public life. But still, Andrew reportedly believes he can still make a comeback, a potent dose of delusion somewhat shared by his excessively loyal ex-wife Fergie.

It had been reported that both Charles and The Queen hoped Andrew could one day slither back, so long as the public was willing to have him. But then it was later reported that certain members of the Royal Family, like future king Prince William, were encouraging Charles to cut Andrew loose. According to The Times, Charles knows that the only thing worse than “Accused rapist Prince Andrew” are the words “Federal civil lawsuit recipient for matters pertaining to alleged underage rape Prince Andrew,” and he’s accepted that there’s no way Andrew can remain a recognized part of the Royal Family. via The Times:

The Duke of York will never return to public life because of the US lawsuit against him alleging sexual abuse, a source close to the Prince of Wales said. Charles believes that even if Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s case against Prince Andrew fails, it is a reminder of the reputational risk to the royal family posed by the duke’s links to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the source said.

That means that when Charles ascends to the throne, Andrew’s days of balcony waving and parade marching are officially over. At least according to that source.

Andrew can’t run from his problems forever (and he shouldn’t – with no sweat glands, I can imagine he’d get dangerously over-heated). So he’s probably going into hiding for a very long time. But what of poor Fergie?? She has tirelessly defended that (alleged) gross creep for years! With Andrew’s possible dismissal into Disgraced Princeville, what will she have left? I guess she could always try to make a quick buck off the situation by recording a country album called, “Stand By Your Man (That No One Wants Anything To Do With).
