Open Post: Hosted By The Trailer For “He’s All That,” Which Jameela Jamil Thinks Looks Terrible

The original She’s All That wasn’t really all that to begin with so people had low expectations for He’s All That, the gender-swapped remake starring TikToker Addison Rae, going in. Well, the trailer is here, and let’s just say expectations were met! Exceeded even, considering that Addison’s best adult friend Kourtney Kardashian pops up out of nowhere. No wonder Jameela Jamil #TookToTwitter to proclaim — “This looks objectively Fucking terrible.” And she’s right. The “nerd” (Tanner Buchanan) Addison makes over doesn’t even wear glasses! I’m like, come on. How else are we supposed to know a transformation has occurred? Make! It! Make! Sense!

Rachael Leigh Cook from the original returns to play Addison’s mom. Matthew Lillard is also here. According to Deadline:

Cobra Kai star Tanner Buchanan is going from the sweaty dojo to being red carpet ready in the trailer for the upcoming Netflix film He’s All That, a reimagination of the 1999 hit She’s All That featuring a gender-role flip. The streamer on Wednesday released the trailer for the movie, which launches August 27.

Buchanan stars as Cameron, an anti-social high school student who becomes his classmate Padgett’s (Addison Rae) pet project as she tries to rehab her reputation after her cheating boyfriend’s antics go viral. If she could turn this average-looking teen into prom king material, her stock would climb! As easy as it sounds, things get complicated when Padgett begins to fall head-over-heels for her guinea pig and drama ensues.

This is both Kourtney and Addison’s movie debut. The cast of 1999’s She’s All That included Usher, Dulé Hill, Lil’ Kim, and Gabrielle Union. In He’s All That, Kourtney fulfills the diversity requirement, proving that just because Addison really wanted to meet Donald Trump, it doesn’t mean she doesn’t have any Black friends. Here’s the trailer:

Thanks, I hate it. But what does Jameela Jamil think!?! For once, we are on the exact same page.

Can you believe it? She just said a thing and didn’t make it all about herself or go off on a rant about the sad state of our culture. I may have to rethink my position on Ja….. oh wait, never mind.

Oh, Jameela. We could have had something special together you and me.
