Forbes Says Rihanna Is Officially A Billionaire

August 4, 2021 / Posted by:

We can now add Rihanna’s name right there next to Mackenzie Scott’s on the top of the very short list of Billionaires to Spare when the revolution comes. Forbes has gone through an entire box of #10 security envelopes scribbling out their dubious math equations and decided that Robyn Fenty is officially a billionaire. Forbes estimates Rihanna is worth about $1.7 billion dollars, that’s approximately 2.5 Kanyes at today’s current exchange rate. You can argue with the math, but you can’t argue with the facts. Rihanna is priceless, so it stands to reason that by comparison Kanye is, simply put, worth less.

Forbes says Rihanna’s company Fenty Beauty constitutes the bulk of her wealth like duh, we know it’s not from current album sales.

Rihanna is now worth $1.7 billion, Forbes estimates—making her the wealthiest female musician in the world and second only to Oprah Winfrey as the richest female entertainer. But it’s not her music that’s made her so wealthy. The bulk of her fortune (an estimated $1.4 billion) comes from the value of Fenty Beauty, of which Forbes can now confirm she owns 50%. Much of the rest lies in her stake in her lingerie company, Savage x Fenty, worth an estimated $270 million, and her earnings from her career as a chart-topping musician and actress.

While Barbados-born Rihanna isn’t the only celebrity to capitalize on her social media presence—she has 101 million followers on Instagram and 102.5 million on Twitter—to build a beauty brand, she is the most successful beauty entrepreneur to do so. Fenty Beauty, which is a 50-50 joint venture with French luxury goods conglomerate LVMH (run by Bernard Arnault, the world’s second-richest person), launched in 2017 with the goal of inclusivity. Its products come in a diverse range of colors—foundation is offered in 50 shades, including harder-to-find darker shades for women of color—and are modeled in its advertising by an equally diverse group of people.

Who would have thought that making your product accessible to more people would result in more sales? What a concept! Now, I said before that Rihanna gets to be on the Do Not Send To The Guillotine list but I should clarify. I’m not advocating violence in any way when I say that, because that list is imaginary. None of them are safe. As with all billionaires, we need to take a wait-and-see attitude. If 10 years from now there’s a vagina-shaped Rocket by Fenty taking trips to space and broke bitches don’t get to ride for free, all bets are off!
