Open Post: Hosted By The $40 Hot Dogs At Kanye West’s Listening Party For “Donda”

This is some Fyre Festival shit, except in keeping on brand with his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, and former, faux-flesh-in-creepy-casings-loving in-laws, Kanye West offered up some peen-shaped animal by-products on Thursday at the listening event for his upcoming album, Donda, at the Mercedes Benz Stadium in Atlanta. And appeared to be charging $40 per hot dog, because when you have a captive audience with thousands of stomachs growling while you’re stunting your ass off, you always milk that shit for all it’s worth. IOW, business as usual. Page Six reports that the menu for Kanye’s event went viral because no one could wrap their heads around such WTAF shenanigans, not even from him.

A photo of the purported menu for the event went viral Friday for its eye-watering prices, like all-beef kosher hotdogs for $40 and $45 for cookies and brownies.

Other fare offered: sweet and salty kettle corn for $35, chicken tenders for $50, and an assorted snack basket for $65.

Naturally, Twitter had a field day. Some users defended the rapper, saying that the prices were for the suites at the stadium and therefore reflected multiple items; others just made fun of it.

Twitter wasn’t having it, even if the prices listed were for baskets of those reheated messes, and this tweet pretty much sums it up:

Page Six continues:

Earlier this week the “Closed on Sunday” rapper, 44, donated 5,000 tickets to several Atlanta-area HBCU’s including Morehouse College and Spelman College.

“Lol it make sense why “donated” them tickets now… he knew he was gonna make that money back,” another Twitter user slyly noted.

It’s not the first time West has been in hot water over food prices at his events.

In 2019 he was roundly criticized for the food offerings at a “Brunchella” reception before a service he gave in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The event was free, but the $55 charged for the paltry brunch drew howls from attendees and demands to have their money refunded.

The event was attended by Kim and their four children, as well as Shaquille O’Neal, CeeLo Green, and others. If everyone was that hungry, they should have just caught a flight to Kim’s house and raided her pantry, but then they would have missed all the noise and fanfare surrounding the pre-release of his tenth album, which was set to drop on Friday, but, well… that didn’t happen. All that hype, mustard, and relish, and for what? Just more half-assed promises and delayed gratification, like when Jesus Is King was delayed but eventually was released.

In case you missed the pic, here is Kanye at the event, his face bizarrely covered in what looks like one of Kim’s old stockings, which probably reeks of the scent of fake meat, so it’s in keeping with the theme of the night:
