Megan Fox Stopped Drinking Because Of A Belligerent Red Carpet Moment At The 2009 Golden Globes

There may be something to Megan Fox believing that she’s going to be the one to uncover a sasquatch or the Ark of the Covenant because homegirl actually seems to have some sense. Megan and her boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly did not attend the Los Angeles premiere of their latest cinematic oeuvre, Midnight In The Switchgrass. The resurgence of COVID-19 has prompted more restrictions in California and Megan and MGK decided it was too risky. (Although, it’s rumored they blew off the premiere because the movie is shit.) But if Megan did go to the premiere, she would’ve kept it booze-free since she revealed in a recent interview that she quit drinking after a 2009 red carpet for the Golden Globes where she got a little too turnt in an interview with Giuliana Rancic. I’m sure it was also somehow Giuliana’s fault.

MITS is based on the actual murders committed by Texas serial killer Robert Benjamin Rhoades who was known as “The Truck Stop Killer.” Not very imaginative, if you ask me–why aren’t real-life serial killers ever called “The Dark Mysterio” or something like that? Megan plays an FBI agent, Rebecca Lombardi, who along with her partner, Karl Helter–played by Bruce Willis–tracks the truck stop murderer. MGK is also in the movie, credited by his real name, Colson Baker. Megan previously jerked off his acting skills but looks like MGK will have to save the pomp and circumstance for his Oscar nomination because they both skipped the premiere.

The Los Angeles County Department of Public Health announced the indoor mask mandate would be reinstated “regardless of vaccination status” because there has been a rise in Coronavirus cases and hospitalizations. And People says that Megan canceled just a few hours before the Los Angeles premiere Monday. A Lionsgate representative told People that she would be skipping the shindig and cited the new COVID cases as the reason:

“Due to the recent California mask mandate and rise of Covid cases, Megan Fox will no longer be attending the premiere tonight.”

MGK also didn’t attend and neither did Bruce Willis, which was shocking because a mask mandate never stopped his ass before. Meanwhile, I guess we know that Megan didn’t pop a bottle and celebrate on her own because she says that she stopped drinking years ago.

Megan spoke with Who What Wear and talked about some of her past looks. One of the looks was a red carpet dress from the 2009 Golden Globes and that led her to talk about how she got lit before doing an interview with Giuliana. via Insider:

“I was sat at a table with Blake Lively, and all three Jonas brothers. At the Golden Globes they always put those giant bottles of Moët champagne on the table. I went through multiple glasses of that. And now I don’t drink and this is why. I was beligerent and said a bunch of shit I shouldn’t have said on the red carpet after that. But I think I got in a lot of trouble for whatever I said on the red carpet at this event. I don’t remember why, but I know that I did–you can look that up.”

And she sure did say a few crazy things:

During an on-screen interview with Giuliana Rancic, Fox called herself a “doppelgänger for Alan Alda” and a transphobic slur.

She went on to say she was “horrified and embarrassed” to be attending the show and told Rancic that her then-partner, Brian Austin Green, was not present because he didn’t want to be her date.

“He’s the man,” she said. “He has an ego.”

Here’s the interview:

It’s nice that Megan decided to stop drinking because of dumb shit she said, but it will shock Megan to learn that you actually don’t need to be drunk to make whole-heartedly head-ass statements. Ask Scarlett Johansson, she does it all the time.
