Halsey Gave Birth To Her First Child

During the pandemic, you weren’t anybody unless you were keeping a secret about being pregnant, and SURPRISE! announcing it months after the baby was born. Halsey has been pregnant; we know this, because she announced it way back in January, and has posed numerous times with her big pregnant belly out. And now, just five days after the baby was born, she’s announcing that she’s a mom. Only five days of celebrity new baby secrecy? Nature is truly healing.

26-year-old Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, and her 37-year-old boyfriend, filmmaker Alev Aydin, did the honors on Instagram with a post dedicated to their new baby, who Halsey says was born on July 14th. One picture featured Halsey, Alev, and their tiny, wrinkly, and amniotic fluid-damp infant, snuggled to her chest, while the other serves as proof positive to any nosy types who were wondering if Halsey would be breastfeeding her baby. In an actually legitimate nice and thoughtful show of gratitude, Halsey tagged several doctors, an OB-GYN, a labor and delivery nurse, and her favorite social media birthing support resources, as well as her partner Alev, for giving her a “rare and euphoric” birth. And naturally, Halsey did her celebrity duty by Instagramming both pictures in tasteful black and white, while letting us know that her new baby shall henceforth be called Ender Ridley Aydin. This is the first child for both of them.

Alev also announced Ender’s birth with a few pics of his own.

Neither Halsey nor Alev didn’t say whether this new baby is a boy or a girl. As for the name, Halsey might have dropped a clue about it in the caption of her post. Alev is originally from Turkey, and Ender is a Turkish word for “rare” or “very rare” in English. Ender is traditionally a boy’s name, so Ender Aydin might be a baby boy. But the most famous Ripley I know is the one who fought aliens in the Aliens franchise. So I’m going with the name being inspired by Ellen Ripley from Alien, but only after the name Sigourneyweaver Absolutelyrules was taken off the table.
