A “Jackass Forever” Actor Named “Poopies” Got Bitten By A Shark During Shark Week

You know when a headline includes “jackass,” “poopies” and a shark bite, that it could totally mean TMI about the anal expulsion habits of pants-pooper Kanye West, who was labeled a jackass by President Obama, getting bitched out by his caustic, former mother-in-law, except this time it isn’t, but the actual story is just as WTF.

Discovery Channel’s annual tradition of Shark Week turns 21 this year, and in order to celebrate, one of the participating sharks seized the day and helped itself to some daredevil man-flesh in the form of Sean “Poopies” McInerney, new to the extremely distinguished lineup in the movie Jackass Forever (formerly titled Jackass 4), set for release in October.

via Complex:

As Discovery’s Shark Week kicks off, the daredevil crew at Jackass decided to join in the fish festivities, and one member got attacked while doing a stunt.

One of Jackass’ newest members, Sean “Poopies” McInerney, was attempting to jump over a school of sharks with a ramp and a paddleboard being pulled across the ocean. The board didn’t completely make the jump, resulting in Poopies falling right into the middle of the sharks. One of the sharks bit the daredevil on the hand, and he was incapacitated until someone on the safety team pulled him out.

Here is the bloody footage of the stunt, which some of you will note is a recreation of Fonzie’s unfortunate “jump the shark” moment from Happy Days back in 1977. So unfortunate, in fact, that “jump the shark” instantly became code for the moment a ridiculous attempt at making history was made, but all that really happened was that shit went instantly downhill from that point forward (as in Cousin Oliver from The Brady Bunch).

Complex continues:

The New Zealand Herald pointed out that Poopies suffered artery and tendon damage in his hand from the singular shark bite, and he was just happy to be alive. Poopies posted the ordeal to his YouTube channel, as seen above, and gets emotional when describing how he could have lost his life from the stunt.

“I knew I got bit, if I didn’t get bit I thought I would get attacked by six more sharks, and luckily I didn’t,” Poopie says while getting choked up during the video. “I just got my hand bit. Scariest thing of my life. I couldn’t really say much, I was in shock.”

Poopies was just happy to survive that bloody wreckage, and some of the other, original Jackass cast members like Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O and Chris Pontius said that this was probably the craziest shit they’d ever done, but that it would make great footage for their upcoming movie. (Who asked for a reunion movie? Do we need this?)

Here is Poopies’ own emotional account of the incident from his YT channel (watch at your own risk):

Now we’ve all been treated to a sneak peek of what we can expect from the upcoming Oscar bait and cinematic magnum opus that will be Jackass Forever, so reserve your tickets early. In the meantime, Shark Week continues through tomorrow on Discovery, and it’s not just another way of saying “Real Housewives of New Jersey marathon, but with slightly fewer fangs and less polluted liquid than what everyone usually uses for self-pickling and sloshing on that set.
