Drew Barrymore Left A Flirty Little Comment On Leonardo DiCaprio’s Instagram Page

July 16, 2021 / Posted by:

A funny thing happened this week. I was reminded that Leonardo DiCaprio has an Instagram account and an active one at that. Maybe I forgot he was on social media because he doesn’t spend his days uploading 10+ Instagram Stories about polishing his Oscar with his favorite trophy polish (#ad), or posting shirtless thirst traps in his pool with captions like, “Is there room on the door for me now? [winky face emoji].” But we were all reminded about Leo’s Instagram presence, thanks to Drew Barrymore, after she slipped into the comments section of a recent post about climate change, and laid on some heavy flattery.

Leo posted an infographic from the United Nations regarding the effects of climate change. This is pretty predictable since Leo loves environmentalism almost as much as he loves yachts.

Drew responded by saying that the only reason she wants to see people wiping sweat off their foreheads is because they caught a glimpse of Leonardo DiCaprio. via E! News:

After reading the message, Barrymore thanked the actor for his work in the fight against climate change, calling him a “pioneer” in saving the Earth.

“You should be the only hot one,” the actress then wrote in the comments section, “and not our planet!”

Drew’s comment sounds like it was pulled at random from a book titled 101 Pick Up Lines for Eco-Warriors, and that’s exactly how some people on the internet took it. via E! News:

“I am LIVING for this comment,” one fan replied. “You’re a real one, Drew.” Added another, “Shoot your shot girl!”

One thing people may be missing in this equation is that while Drew is currently very much single, Leo is currently not. Leo, who is 46, has been dating 24-year-old Camila Morrone for about three-and-a-half years. And if he’s going to leave his current girlfriend for anyone, it’s likely going to be someone with an ID in their wallet that lists a date of birth of 1999 or younger. There’s also the fact that Drew technically already knows Leo, and probably doesn’t have to slide into his Instagram comments to get his attention. E! News notes that they’ve attended a number of the same awards shows, and even hung out together at a Golden Globes after-party in 2007.

But maybe Drew wasn’t flirting. Maybe Drew was being shady with that comment about Leo being the only hot one. For the last time, Leo already swore that he didn’t start those fires in the Amazon rainforest!
