Hot Slut Of The Day!
Van Leeuwen’s Kraft Mac & Cheese Ice Cream!
If you’ve ever thought to yourself, “This would be a lot more delicious if it was cold, creamed, and sweet,” while eating thee classic cuisine of American gourmetness that is Kraft’s Macaroni & Cheese, you were probably stoned out of your skull. But your stoned thoughts wafted into the universe and were later picked up by fancy ice cream maker Van Leeuwen and Kraft! Because they have joined forces to make the luxurious baby of French ice cream and Kraft Macaroni & Cheese. This is some high-end meets low-end shit. And yes, Kraft is obviously the end-bitch in this duet.
Today is National Mac and Cheese Day, and yesterday, Van Leeuwen celebrated early by announcing their limited-edition Kraft Macaroni & Cheese flavor. It’s available starting today at Van Leeuwen locations and on Van Leeuwen’s website for JUST $12 a pint. Now, whenever I buy a pint of ice cream that costs more than $3.99, I expect to get an alert from Ancestry.com, telling me that I’m directly related to the Rockefellers since I’m obviously super rich! So if I bought a $12 pint of ice cream, I’d storm into Amazon’s board room and let them know that I own a huge percentage of the company since I’m obviously Bezos-level rich.
After Van Leeuwen’s Kraft M&C ice cream was announced, some gagged at the thought of macaroni and cheese ice cream. But Amy McCarthy at Eater tasted it and says it works!
Upon taking the first bite, I was hooked. Half of the pint had disappeared by the time I looked up, and I have no regrets. The cheese powder combines with Van Leeuwen’s rich base, made with milk, cream, and sugar, to produce a buttery flavor that’s only slightly cheesy. It doesn’t exactly evoke a bowl of macaroni and cheese in terms of texture, thankfully, but the flavor is strikingly similar. It’s lightly funky, and more complex than the classic blue-box dinner. It’s one of those foods that’s so uniquely compelling that you’re going to be confused while eating it, but definitely won’t want to stop.
“…confused while eating it” sounds like what people who eat my cooking go through. But I’d probably be confused too while eating fancy $12 M&C ice cream because I’d be wondering where are the bits of solid gold for that price! If I made it myself using Kraft M&C powder and some cheap generic ice cream, I wouldn’t be confused at all while eating it. Because there’d be zero confusion about me ending up with a case of the heaves and farts.
