Jerry O’Connell May Replace Sharon Osbourne On “The Talk”

Back in March, The Talk imploded when Sharon Osbourne stepped in it by dismissing co-host Sheryl Underwood’s concerns about Piers Morgan’s comments on Meghan Markle. Piers and Sharon are friends and her vehement defense of him came off as highly hostile, leading to more allegations of racial situations behind the scenes and Sharon’s ultimate exit. So now it’s time to recast as a seat opened up and it seems the newest Chatty Kathy may be a man, as Jerry O’Connell is rumored to be next in line to be on women’s daytime talk TV.

The Talk is currently made up of co-hosts Sheryl Underwood, Amanda Kloots, and Elaine Welteroth. Carrie Ann Inaba is taking a break from the show for the sake of her wellbeing. And so the three women may soon be spit-balling gossip and sex stories with their good girlfriend, Jerry.

Jerry O’Connell has long been one of the girls. He’s been on Watch What Happens Live! and given genuine input on Bravolebrities since he and his wife–the OG Mystique slider herself–Rebecca Romijn, watch that shit regularly.

He’s also subbed for Wendy Williams and managed not to make a joke about a teenager’s untimely death all while bringing way too much energy to the room. He even tried launching his own Jerry ‘O show through Wendy.

I know what you’re thinking: “Just what a female-led daytime talk show needs–the opinion of a straight man.” But maybe the people over at CBS are hoping such a stunt will pull in the rating as The Wrap says that The Talk‘s have been in decline for some time now–even before Sharon left. And according to The Wrap, Jerry is the rumored shoo-in. Not only has he guest-hosted before on the show, but negotiations have been going on for months:

Jerry O’Connell, a favorite among daytime TV fans, is nearing a deal to become a full-time co-host on The Talk, a person with knowledge of the conversations told TheWrap. He’ll effectively replace Sharon Osbourne, who left the CBS show in March. A second individual told us negotiations between O’Connell and the talk show have been on and off since at least May.

I hope that if Jerry does get on The Talk he does the proper prep he’ll need to be a straight man hosting a talk show meant for us ladies and gays. Most importantly he needs to make sure he hires Meghan McCain‘s hairstylist since she’s out of a gig now. Keep that trolling demoness employed!
