Because Of Course, Bill Cosby Is Planning To Do A Comedy Tour, A Docuseries, And A Book
Bill Cosby just got out of prison because of a technicality and will no longer face punishment for allegedly drugging and raping Andrea Constand and dozens upon dozens of other women over the course of his long career and life. Even though the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overturned his conviction, most people should understand that he literally admitted to getting quaaludes to use on women sexually. But there are still people who actually support him. Well, those people are in luck because TMZ says that Cosby has a docuseries coming and is reportedly trying to put together a comedy tour.
TMZÂ reports that 83-year-old Bill Cosby is now hard at work on new projects. His rep, Andrew Wyatt, says that Bill wants to “hit the road and tell jokes.” I think there’s no crueler joke he could tell than his release already provided us, but hey. And apparently, this isn’t just fever dream hopefulness from a recently released formerly convicted sex offender, his team has contacted “several promoters and comedy clubs who say they are open to the idea.” Don’t let people tell you cancel culture doesn’t work, kids! This is all made the more interesting since Bill Cosby was “blind” and his health was failing when he was on trial for rape. Guess he’s better now. What a recovery.
Despite widespread backlash and outrage over his prison release, Wyatt confidently claims … “The world wants to see Mr. Cosby.”
We’re also told Cosby is working on a 5-part docuseries covering his life, legacy, trial and prison experience — and he’ll be sitting down soon to do his interview for the project.
So far, we’re told producers of the series have shot interviews with Cosby’s family, friends and other celebs.
Celebs? Well, we know Phylicia Rashad is going to be one of them. And Naturi Naughton too.
But wait, it gets even worse. Cosby isn’t just planning to tell jokes at a comedy club that actually thinks booking him is good for business. Cosby plans to spread his bullshit in schools and prisons:
A potential comedy tour isn’t the only thing catching Cosby’s eye … we’re told he also wants to go around the country making appearances in prisons, schools and neighborhoods, talking to folks about being better citizens and curbing violence.
Cosby’s rep says the inspiration for a speaking tour draws from Cosby’s own experiences behind bars, where he heard moving stories from other inmates, like a father and son serving time together.
Cosby is also writing a book with novelist Frederick Williams, focusing on Cosby’s criminal case and prison experience.
And since Cosby is obviously trying to make this world even more awful, I’m guessing his opening act will be Louis CK and all of his travel will be booked by Ghislaine Maxwell.
