Nick Cannon’s Twins Have Arrived And Their Names Are, Well, They’re Special

Prodigious procreator Nick Cannon continues to do what he does best — making babies and saddling them with ridiculous names. E! News reports that Nick’s latest children, twin boys with DJ/radio personality Abby De La Rosa, have entered the group chat, short-circuiting everybody’s auto-correct. Are you ready or did you read ahead? Because you see, I’m trying to build some suspense here before revealing the names you definitely did not guess correctly in your Nick Cannon Twin Names office pool. I mean, there’s no way in hell anybody could predict that Nick’s twins would be named Zion Mixolydian Cannon and Zillion Heir Cannon. Turbans off to this absolute celebrity baby name legend.

Nick has once again proven he’s cornier than Joe Biden’s imaginary friend Corn Pop lost in a corn maze at the Iowa State Fair. E! reports:

Club Tummy’s VIP members have officially arrived!

On Wednesday, June 16, Abby De La Rosa announced the sweet and special news that she and Nick Cannon welcomed their twin boys. The proud mom took to Instagram, writing, “JUNE 14TH, 2021! Welcome to the world. Zion Mixolydian Cannon & Zillion Heir Cannon #myworld #mytwinboys.”

In addition, she shared a heartwarming photo of her twins’ hands holding onto hers on Instagram Stories. “Zion & Zilly,” she captioned her image.

The arrival of Nick and Abby’s newborn sons comes just a little over three months after they announced they were expecting.

Here’s Abby’s post. She’s wiped her Instagram clean and this is currently the only post on her page. Maybe that’s because the twins already had their own prenatal Instagram page @ClubTummyAN NCREDIBLE (sic) PLACE WHERE OUR BABIES CAN FEEL THE VIBRATION & FREQUENCIES THROUGH MUSIC FROM AROUND THE WORLD.

Zion and Zilly join Nick’s other set of twin, 10-year-olds Monroe and Moroccan whose mother is Mariah Carey and Golden, 4, and Powerful Queen, 6 months, who he shares with his ex Brittany Bell. I like how Nick keeps us on our toes with these names. There is always a little unexpected asymmetry. And I know he’s not solely responsible for them, but his record speaks for itself.  Monroe, yes, that’s all Mariah. But Moroccan as an adjective is Nick’s handiwork, I’m sure of it. Golden, sure, that’s not so out there. But Powerful Queen? That’s some high-hoteppery that could only come from the mind of a man with a sequined turban and a podcast. And now we have one baby with a biblical first name (Zion) and a musical middle name (presumably, as in the Mixolydian mode) while his brother carries the burden of a lifetime of watching the stock market if he hopes to ever live up to his name. And considering how many college educations Nick’s on the hook for, at this rate, poor Zillion Heir’s chances don’t look great.
