Open Post: Hosted By Alicia Silverstone Pronouncing Her Name

June 12, 2021 / Posted by:

Alicia Silverstone has taken a break from bathing with her now 10-year-old son, Bear Blu, to join the remedy-richwisdom-packed Gen Z playground that is TikTok. Alicia previously recreated the “as if” scene from Clueless with Bear Blu, and she got back on TikTok to set us all straight about how to say her name. We’ve been doing it wrong all these years and her name is sad that it’s not exiting our lips as her mother and nature originally intended. Alicia went through all the trouble of removing the pre-masticated food from her mouth to flex her tongue and teach us how to do this, so listen up:

via HuffPo:

Turns out we’ve all been pretty *clueless* when it comes to pronouncing Alicia Silverstone’s name.

The actor responded to the “tell me what your name is … and then tell me what people mispronounce it as” TikTok trend on Thursday — and blew plenty of minds in the process.

“My name is Ali-see-yuh, Ali-see-yuh. Not Alee-sha. Not Alee-sha. Ali-see-yuh,” she said in the video, the third she has posted since joining the platform this week.

Here is Alicia to blow all of our minds with her name correction:

#stitch with @kesha & @mahoganylox: Just an FYI… it’s Ali-SEE-yuh 😉😘

I don’t know about you, but I did know the correct way to pronounce her name, as this subject seems to pop up every few years and I must have been paying attention one of those times (and that is without question the most shocking revelation in this post). And my guess is that Alicia’s son will continue to pronounce her name as “WHYMOMWHY” every time she overshares something about him.
