Chad Michael Murray Will Star As Ted Bundy In A New Movie And People Are Over It
Chad Michael Murray has signed on to play Ted Bundy in an upcoming film titled American Boogeyman. And the people are asking, “Why?” No, not “Why is Chad Michael Murray still getting work in 2021?” It’s more like, “Why are we continually making movies that glorify this lunatic serial killer who wasn’t even hot like everybody says?”
This is the second Ted Bundy movie in recent years. Zac Efron starred in that Netflix slop, Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile (2019). It was told from the perspective of Ted’s partner, played by Lily Collins. Netflix also released the doc Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes the same year and had to remind Twitterers not to lust after the killer creep.
This new movie will reportedly focus on the FBI trying to catch Ted. It will be directed by Daniel Farrands, who is also directing a similarly titled film called Aileen Wuornos: American Boogeywoman. His past hits include The Murder of Nicole Brown Simpson (starring Mena Suvari and featuring Taryn Manning as the morally corrupt Faye Resnick) and that Sharon Tate movie starring Hilary Duff. So don’t expect this Bundy movie to shatter any box office records.
With yet another Ted Bundy adaption on the horizon, people took to Twitter to share their concerns that Hollywood is romanticizing a murderous creep, who, once again, was not hot:
society if hollywood stops giving us ted bundy movies and romanticizing an actual fucking monster pic.twitter.com/1MBilG8uer

Documentary: Ted Bundy was able to kill so many women because of how attractive and charming he was!
Every picture I have ever seen of Ted Bundy: pic.twitter.com/aA2o5h3Jrw— Werewolf Supremacy (@bugtoucher) May 26, 2021
No thanks, Ted Bundy movie. If I want a story about a white guy who murders women I’ll just watch the news.

you know what would make ted bundy absolutely furious? being forgotten. being remembered solely as a nasty roach with mommy issues. being regarded as not very smart or noteworthy. but no, y’all have to give this sick fuck a weird, twisted, sexualized immortality.

I agree. Stop trying to twist Ted Bundy’s fucked up legacy into something sexy and mysterious. If that’s your M.O., there are way better-looking murderers (and alleged murderers) to glamorize! Like… um… huh. I mean, I just watched 1974’s The Towering Inferno, and O.J. Simpson was handsome. Not that I was attracted to him. I was much too distracted by sexy, sexy Steve McQueen and Paul Newman.
