Open Post: Hosted By Colin Jost Sliming Scarlett Johansson During The MTV Movie & TV Awards

The 2021 MTV Movie & TV Awards were on last night and famous tree actress, Scarlett Johansson took home this year’s Generation Award. Or rather, it was mailed to her because her ass accepted from home. This isn’t the OscarsPeople says that during her acceptance speech her husband Colin Jost decided to prank her by sliming her like they do at the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.

MTV described its Generation Award as celebrating “beloved actors whose diverse contributions to both film and television have turned them into household names.” If there are two things that go together it’s Scarlett Johansson and diversity. ScarJo accepted the award, which has gone to people like Sandra Bullock, Adam Sandler, Reese Witherspoon, Jim Carrey, Will Smith, Robert Downey Jr., and Chris Pratt. Have to say, Scarlett getting it after the worst Chris is a bit of a slap in the face. But not more insulting than Colin. Near the end of her acceptance speech, Colin came over and dumped some neon green sludge over Scarlett’s head:

“What the fuck!” she shouts, as Jost says with a smile, “MTV! “You got slimed!”” The actress then says, “That’s Nickelodeon!”

“I’m very, very sorry,” says the Saturday Night Live star, who tied the knot with Johansson in October. “I’ll get a towel. …Love you.”

“Where did you even get this?” she asks of the slime, to which Jost responds, “Amazon.”

Here’s the moment:

I know sliming celebrities is the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards’ thing, but it makes more sense to do during the MTV Movie & TV Awards because it’s an ADULT show. So it’s a much more appropriate show to feature shots of a man dropping slime on a woman’s face. But seriously, ScarJo deserved another award for the impeccable acting job she did while trying to look surprised over a staged prank.
