Kitty Surprise!

In 2014, I paid tribute to the rebooted Puppy Surprise, the toy that traumatized children for many years. So in honor of today, National Drag Your Hungover Ass To The Local Grocery Store To Buy Your Mother Some Flowers Really Quick Day, I am paying tribute to the pussy-fied Puppy Surprise that is Kitty Surprise! Just like Puppy Surprise, Kitty Surprise was made up of a mommy pussy toy that you “cut” open and pulled out her kitties. So. Much. Fun!

Hasbro first made Puppy Surprise in 1991, and shortly after, they made Kitty Surprise. The Kitty Surprise set came with a pregnant mother (whose eyes are saying, “No, I am not amused by this either.”) and inside of her were her cat babies. And as Ghost of the Doll points out, her womb was a mystery because you didn’t know how many plushie kittehs were up in there or what they looked like:

Each set comprised of a plush mother animal measuring about 12 inches long and a number of soft babies which were about 4 inches long. They had plastic faces and came in a variety of colors. The number of babies included varied and each one was different. The mothers came with a name tag around their necks, which also came in a variety of colours. Later on, the babies were sold on their own in many guises.

I could not find a Kitty Surprise commercial from the 90s, but here’s a YouTuber showing off the rebooted Kitty Surprise, who is dripping in glamour and is ready to hit the streets in search of her next kitty daddy as soon as you do a C-section and pull those babies out of her!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers, memaws, grand-memaws, aunties, stepmothers, foster mothers, mother figures, single daddies, and motherfuckers out there. And a special shout out to the mothers who left childhood scars on the souls of their children by getting Kitty Surprise!
