Taika Waititi And Rita Ora Are Still Happening
Last week the incredibly random news broke that Taika Waititi and Rita Ora, the “fetch” of pop stars, were maybe a thing. Taika’s in Australia shooting Thor: Love and Thunder, and Rita’s there working as a judge on The Voice Australia. The two were spotted traveling together on a private jet, and Rita also posted an Instagram pic of Taika with his arms wrapped around her. Ipso facto, they’re probably banging.
Now that shit’s basically been confirmed; on Friday Rita and Taika went to the premiere of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under at the Sydney Opera House together, and the next day she went out to lunch with Taika and a bunch of celebs like Russell Crowe, Christian Bale, Isla Fisher, and Sacha Baron Cohen. Thirsty Rita must have been so starstruck. Hopefully, she snagged their autographs for some extra eBay cash.

Taika did a guest spot on Drag Race Down Under’s first episode, so it makes sense that he was at the premiere. But I’m surprised Rita showed her face at anything RuPaul-related. A few months ago she was slotted to guest-judge one of the last Drag Race UK Season 2 episodes. Then, at the last minute, she didn’t show up. Rita! You’re not exactly in a position to be turning down work! Since there was no time to find a new human judge, production replaced with a mannequin named MICKAYYYY!:

Now, Rita and Taika haven’t officially confirmed their new relationship. Taika was last linked to his former personal assistant Polly Stoker. He’s still technically married to film producer/mum to his 2 daughters, Chelsea Winstanley. They’ve been separated since 2018.
Maybe Taika and Rita being a thing has something to do with her name. He’s from New Zealand, and a popular Kiwi/Māori phrase is “Kia Ora!” It’s used to say hello, send well wishes, or express gratitude. All positive things. And “Rita Ora” is so so close to “Kia Ora”, so… maybe… ugh, is this anything? I’m really scrambling for a reason Taika would go for blackfishing, COVID rule-breaking Rita!
