The Kardashians Won’t Be Campaigning For Caitlyn Jenner Because Their Politics Don’t Align

Just a few days into her official campaign to become the next governor of CaliforniaCaitlyn Jenner is already proving she’s at least as qualified as Gary Coleman was when he ran in our last gubernatorial recall election back in 2003. According to TMZ, Caitlyn’s already taken a bold stance on prison reform even though she may not quite understand how the office of the District Attorney works. So, she’s not as qualified as Arnold Schwarzenegger was, but is possibly more qualified than Gallagher. And her views run contrary to those of future civil rights attorney/potential one-day Madame President Kim Kardashian’s. TMZ reports that none of the Kardashians, least of all Kim, will be campaigning for Caitlyn.

This recall election to overthrow Governor Gavin Newsom is shaping up to be a smaller circus with fewer clowns than last time, but one where the primary clown has killed before. TMZ reports:

Caitlyn Jenner is wasting no time sharing where she stands on important issues, but her views on prison reform stand in stark contrast to the work Kim Kardashian’s done for years … and Kim’s not happy about it.

Caitlyn tweeted, “Gavin’s District Attorneys across California are releasing dangerous criminals back on to our streets. Enough is enough. #RecallGavin” in response to a story about a 7-month-old who was killed by a man who was allegedly arrested twice this year for domestic violence but released.

Sources connected to Kim and Caitlyn tell us the two have had plenty of private conversations about prison reform over the years … and we’re told Kim was not only disappointed, but disturbed by what Caitlyn wrote.

TMZ points out, as many others did on Twitter, that the Governor does not appoint DAs, they are elected by the voters.

But that’s not why Kim is disturbed. She’s apparently disturbed because she’s “a big supporter of Governor Newsom’s approach of rehabilitating and offering reentry support to those coming out of prison as well as investing in crime prevention.” Oh is that right, Kim? Name three of his biggest hits. I’ll wait.

That’s what I thought. According to TMZ:

The Kardashians won’t be hitting the campaign trail on behalf of Caitlyn Jenner now that’s she’s running for governor of California … because their views and the views of C.J. don’t mesh, and the fallout from her divorce from Kris makes it all just too tricky.

Sources close to Caitlyn tell TMZ … she spoke to her family before announcing her campaign Friday, giving them a heads up. We’re told she did not expect them to stump for her on the campaign trail, and now we know why.

Caitlyn’s politics have been an issue with the family for years.  She has taken positions on issues like gay marriage — which she initially opposed but now supports — which landed like a lead balloon with the Kardashians.

I hate to say it but I’m kind of impressed with Caitlyn. At least she’s picked a side, unlike Texas gubernatorial hopeful Matthew McConaughey. I mean the side is abhorrent, but at least she has principles. Even if they do line up with Tomi Lahren’s.

Can’t wait. As Gavin’s ex-wife Kimberly Guilfoyle famously once said…
