Dr. Dre And Nicole Young Are Legally Single But Their Fight Over Money Is Far From Done

The Blast says that Dr. Dre and Nicole Young are officially single! Yay! Time for fireworks! Just kidding, those two are still ready to rumble in the courtroom–so I guess there will be fireworks, just not the celebratory kind. The couple has split their divorce proceedings into two so that they could legally separate and then deal with all the financial separations. So they are not legally married to each other anymore, but their divorce lawyers don’t have to cancel plans to buy another vacation house, because their legal tussle over money lives on.

Nicole filed for divorce last year after 24 years of marriage, and since then, they’ve been fighting so hard over money that Dre having an aneurysm wasn’t even enough to stop them. Nicole was demanding $2 million a month in spousal support and Dre shot that down but did give her $2 million to cover the cost of her luxurious life as they try to settle on a permanent agreement.

The Blast saw legal documents which show that lawyers for the couple have filed “judgment” in their case with both Dre and Nicole signing off on the “status” of their divorce. And Dre made sure to get in one more diss against Nicole by saying her “false” claim of domestic abuse was what ended the marriage:

According to the legal documents, the ex-couple agreed to legally end their marriage on April 15, 2021. As we reported, it doesn’t mark the end of the couple’s divorce case — they are still hashing out the massive financial split in their relationship.

Several weeks ago, Dr. Dre filed legal documents asking the judge to “bifurcate” the status of their divorce — paving the way for him and Nicole Young to be single again. Our sources say she had no issue with it and didn’t want to be married to the legendary rapper either.

The only thing now is for a judge to sign off on the agreement — which is essentially a rubber stamp. A hearing on the issue is in July…

In the legal documents, Dr. Dre says his ex-wife’s “false allegations of domestic violence” made it clear there was no way of reconciliation in their relationship.

Meanwhile, Dre’s $800 million fortune is up for grabs as Nicole is requesting half, honey. And unfortunately for him, Nicole keeps pulling wins in court. Not only will she get to interview the mistresses she was looking for to find out how much money Dre spent on them during the marriage, but Page Six says Dre’s lawyers were both forced off of his divorce case. Laura Wasser, Queen of Celebrity Divorces who’s represented Angelina Jolie and recently Kim Kardashian, has been forced off the case because her co-counsel, Howard King, worked for both Nicole and Dre in the past and so it represented a conflict of interest. Laura worked with King, and so by association, she had to go.

Well, congrats on officially being single. Literally, this will change nothing for Dre at least, since–as evidenced by the three mistresses located so far–being married was never interrupting his dating life.
