Prince Harry Did Not Stick Around After Prince Philip’s Funeral To Reconcile With His Family

Can you believe the nerve of Prince Harry bouncing immediately following his grandfather’s funeral, blowing off his dad and brother, and leaving his bereaved, newly widowed granny to spend her 95th birthday alone for the first time in her life? Because that’s just what he did, but not before kicking a couple of THE QUEEN‘s corgi puppies on his way to the airport (metaphorically of course). According to The Daily Beast, Prince Harry failed to reconcile the strained” relations between himself and his brother Prince William and father Prince Charles during his brief visit back to England to attend Prince Philip’s funeral.

The Daily Beast reports:

Prince Harry has flown home to California—missing the queen’s first birthday as a widow—amid growing evidence that his visit to the U.K. did not significantly improve “strained” relations with his father and brother despite some positive signs.

He is understood to have flown into Los Angeles on an American Airlines flight from London Heathrow. A chauffeur-driven MPV was seen leaving the private terminal at LAX and arriving at their Montecito mansion.

However, hopes were fading Wednesday that a brief carefully choreographed chat between Harry and William as they walked out of their grandfather’s funeral on Saturday would herald a new era of royal relations.

The Times reported that Harry’s relationship with his father and brother continues to be “strained” and said any exchanges between them at the funeral will have done little to improve matters.

Sources told The Times it was “unthinkable” there would have been serious discussions after the funeral on the grave matters raised by Harry and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Did I hope that William and Harry would have it out at the funeral Dynasty-style with someone getting slapped in the face with an opera glove and Duchess Camilla getting knocked ass over tea kettle into Philip’s open grave? Of course. Did I expect it? YES! These modern royals are so disappointing!

And as for missing The Queen’s birthday, which is today, she is expected to spend it alone “with only a small bubble of staff” at Windsor Castle anyway. I suppose he could have stuck around wearing a maid’s uniform in a Mrs. Doubtfire attempt to comfort her in her isolation, but frankly, he doesn’t have the hips to pull it off. People reports that Harry’s pregnant wife Meghan Markle, who didn’t make the trip on doctor’s orders, had been speaking with Harry throughout the duration of his trip and that she and 2-year-old Archie also spoke with The Queen ahead of the funeral. People adds:

The brothers are unlikely to meet again before July, when they are due to unveil a statue in honor of their late mother, Princess Diana. “They’ve had massive input,” says a senior palace source. “It’s their project.”

Good! The only thing better than brawling at a funeral is knocking over a statue of your dead mother while brawling at an unveiling. Come on boys, Henry VIII would have done it!
