Larsa Pippen And Malik Beasley Are No More, Because She’s Over The Drama
When 46-year-old Larsa Pippen got with 24-year-old NBA player Malik Beasley (who fully surprised his then-wife by getting caught holding hands with Larsa), I’m sure all of us had the very real problem of trying to drown out the sound of wedding bells that instantly began playing in our heads. Well, Larsa isn’t going to interrupt her own wedding to ask, “Is there a reason why us two can’t legally be wed? Like, an outstanding previous marriage, perhaps?“. Because it’s not going to get to that point. Larsa and Malik are over after about four months.
Sources tell Us Weekly that no one should really be surprised that things ended between Larsa and Malik (and no one is) after just four months because it was just a low-commitment fling:
The Real Housewives of Miami alum and the Minnesota Timberwolves player, “were friends first,” one source tells Us, noting they are “still in communication.”
“Many people assumed it was serious when in fact it was not.” The Chicago native has now been “focusing on her family and Larsa Marie, her jewelry brand.”
Sources don’t say when Larsa and Malik called it quits, but they were together as of Valentine’s Day, so that’s something. However, sometime between then and now, Larsa and Malik stopped following each other on Instagram, which as we all know is pretty much confirmation that they’re really done. Also, Larsa has been “seen” with a guy who isn’t Malik. As for that source’s assurance that they’re still talking, my guess is their communication is limited to the odd text sent by Larsa, asking if Malik wants to come get his toothbrush before she trashes it. Because it sounds like Larsa might have been the one to initiate the end of things:
“Larsa decided to distance herself from the drama,” the insider says. “He was going through a lot and the timing wasn’t right.”
Larsa and Malik got together while Malik was still married to 23-year-old Instagram model Montana Yao, who also happens to be the mother of Malik’s 1-year-old son Makai (and the woman who took the fall over some drug charges). After Montana learned of Malik’s surprise relationship with Larsa, Montana filed for divorce, and she later claimed she was being evicted from the home she shared with Malik. Larsa claimed that Malik told her he was separated from Montana. Then she admitted that she knew he was married, but that he was putting out the kind of vibes only a man who wants to be not-married puts out. But, in that same conversation, she claimed she really didn’t like the attention she was getting for being with Malik, and she vowed to keep their situation quiet.
The good news for Larsa is that she doesn’t have to work so hard at avoiding attention anymore because she’s done with the reason she was getting all that attention in the first place. Larsa really is truly blessed. And you know what, this situation is probably also good for Larsa’s oldest son, Scotty Pippen Jr., who is 20 years old. I’m sure he’s grateful it wasn’t that serious between his mom and Malik. Because the only thing more uncomfortable and awkward than hearing about your mom’s dates is hearing her say, “Trust me, you’ll love him, you have so much in common. You both play basketball, your birthdays are both in November. Actually, uh, speaking of birth dates…”
