Bethenny Frankel Is Engaged Now That Her Divorce Is Finalized

December 2012. What were you up to? Preparing for the end of the world? Seeing Les Misérables in theatres? Shaking your ass to “Gangnam Style”? Bethenny Frankel of The Real Housewives of New York City was separating from her husband Jason Hoppy. She filed for divorce the next month. And after eight years of custody battles, allegations of abuse, restraining orders, and Jason’s arrest for stalking and threats, the couple’s divorce from hell was finalized on January 20, 2021.

How did Bethenny celebrate? By getting engaged and starting the process all over again! Her new fiancé is film producer/real estate developer Paul Bernon.

50-year-old Bethenny began dating Paul, 43, in 2018, soon after her on-again-off-again boyfriend Dennis Shields passed away of a suspected opioid overdose. Bethenny and Paul split in the fall of 2020 but reconciled a couple of months ago. Earlier this week, Page Six shared (suspiciously close-up) paparazzi photos of Bethenny rocking a massive diamond engagement ring on a Florida beach. Today People confirmed that she is indeed engaged.

Back in 2019, Bethenny went on Watch What Happens Live and told Andy Cohen that her 10-year-old daughter Bryn absolutely loves Paul, and “they’re very, very similar people.” The same year she told People their relationship was “wonderful”:

“He’s a good person who I love,” she said. “I don’t know if it’s a yin to my yang, but he’s really relaxed, he’s mellow and he’s very, very funny.”

Paul would have to be as relaxed as a tranquilized sloth to put up with Bethenny’s exhausting shenanigans. Like earlier this month when she got shit for criticizing Meghan Markle doing the Oprah interview. And teems (TEEMS!) of Bravo fans announced they were done with her bullshit:

Good luck, Paul. And a bigger good luck to Bryn. Kid probably watches Irreconcilable Differences starring child Drew Barrymore and thinks “Wow, what a happy family!”
