Tom Girardi, The Estranged Husband Of Erika Jayne From The “Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills,” Has Been Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s

49-year-old Real Housewives of Beverly Hills‘ Erika Jayne is currently divorcing her 81-year-old husband, Tom Girardi. Coincidentally, Tom is in the middle of a huge financial and legal collapse and has been sued by his partners, had his practice dissolved, and lost his license with the California State Bar. Erika has also been sued for allegedly using the divorce to hide assets that Tom is accused of stealing from the families of plane crash victims. Now Page Six says that Tom has been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

At the end of last year, Tom had a major legal fallout which may have fucked with his health. I would also have a breakdown if I was getting sued for allegedly embezzling, like, lots of money. He was accused of stealing settlement money from the families of victims of the Lion Air Flight 610 plane crash. And after his law firm, 1126 Wilshire Partnership, was dissolved, his partner, Robert Keese, sued him for allegedly not paying him and other associates an estimated $315,000. Wells Fargo Financial Services are also after Tom’s ass for allegedly breaching agreements he had with them. So Tom is neck-deep in legal shit.

Tom’s assets were frozen in December and his brother, Robert Girardi, said he was hospitalized over a “serious illness.” By January, Robert had said that Tom was suffering short-term memory loss, and a month later, Robert was named Tom’s temporary conservator. A mental assessment was done as part of Robert’s attempts to become Tom’s permanent conservator so that he can handle all of Tom’s legal issues. Dr. Nathan Lavid, a forensic and clinical psychiatrist, swore in an affidavit, which was filed yesterday, that Tom is unfit for any court proceeding due to his medical condition. Dr. Lavid added that Tom has been diagnosed with late-onset Alzheimer’s and Dementia:

“Dementia impairs his ability to understand the hearing. His emotional distress is directly related to his dementia and exacerbated by his confusion.”

Lavid also noted that Tom’s short-term memory, ability to concentrate and recognition have “moderate impairment.” He also said Tom suffers from “moderate” delusions.

Alzheimer’s is incredibly tragic. But also this is Real Housewives we’re talking about and Erika Jayne is still on the show. So at the very least, expect Andy Cohen and the other Bravo overlords to hit up the makers of Alzheimer’s medications for product placement in future episodes.
