Meghan Markle Launched A Complaint To ITV About Piers Morgan’s Comments On Her Mental Health

They say that every day is a gift. But well, yesterday was really a gift. It was the day unfiltered professional contrarian Piers Morgan walked off the stage of ITV’s Good Morning Britain. Piers threw a tantrum live on air because he couldn’t handle his co-presenter Alex Beresford stating facts about Piers’ long-running hatred of Meghan Markle, which Piers leaned really hard into the morning after Meghan and Prince Harry’s CBS interview with Oprah Winfrey aired. Not long after Piers ran off stage, ITV announced that Piers had decided to leave the show. We also learned that Piers’ shitty comments about Meghan’s mental health struggles caused more than 41,000 people to complain to ITV. As it turns out, one of those 41,000 people was Meghan Markle herself.

Meghan and Harry had a lot to say about their choice to step down as senior royals, but the main points were that they had both officially had it with the media printing 100% bullshit and hate against Meghan, that she experienced racism from the media and in private, and that all the hate, criticism, and racism started to get to her to the point where she didn’t want to be alive anymore.

Piers, who clearly still holds a grudge from the one time back in 2016 when Meghan “ghosted” him after they had a drink together, accused her of lying, especially about her claims of having suicidal thoughts. Not a great look for the co-host of a TV show that airs on a network that promotes a mental health campaign aimed at getting people talking about depression and anxiety. So it should come as no surprise that Meghan filed a formal complaint against Piers. According to CNN, Meghan filed the complaint because she was afraid of what his comments might do to someone watching at home, who might be dealing with their own mental health issues.

Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made a formal complaint to British broadcaster ITV relating to Piers Morgan’s comments about her mental health, CNN has learned.

CNN understands that Meghan’s complaint to ITV concerned the impact Morgan’s comments could have on others and how it could degrade the seriousness of mental health issues. The complaint did not relate to the personal nature of Morgan’s attacks.

ITV has previously said that they are investigating the situation. Or, they could just save all the questions and go straight to the source. Because there’s no mystery to investigate. According to The Sun, ITV allegedly gave Piers an ultimatum: either apologize on-air to Meghan for calling her a liar or lose his job. Piers allegedly refused to apologize, which led to him “quitting.”  And guess what? Not only is Piers not sorry for calling Meghan a liar, but he’ll happily do it again if you give him the chance. When Piers left his home in London today, reporters asked him if he’s sorry, and he’s not. Piers doubled down on his comments about Meghan being a liar:

And he tweeted this:

I’m off to spend more time with my opinions.” Wow, did we all just feel sorry for his opinions? I know I did. What did they ever do to deserve such a heinous punishment as being forced to spend time with Piers?
