Janice Dickinson Says Gigi And Bella Hadid Do Not Compare To The Supermodels Of Yesteryear

As a teen raised on America’s Next Top Model, I will always have a special, crazy place in my heart for Janice Dickinson. And since Janice is the very first supermodel ever (according to her), lady has opinions on today’s covergirls. Big surprise, they’re not good. 66-year-old Janice says models like Gigi Hadid and Bella Hadid just aren’t on the same level as supermodels from the 70s, 80s, and 90s. I’m assuming she’s talking about herself and ladies like Linda Evangelista, Cindy Crawford, Naomi Campbell, and Christy Turlington (AKA the stars of George Michael’s Freedom! ’90).

On David Yontef’s Behind the Velvet Rope podcast Janice said (via ET):

“The models of the seventies and eighties do not compare to the models of today. The Instagram models get famous and get put into Vogue, the Kylie Jenner’s and the Gigi Hadids and the Bella Hadids.”

At first I thought she meant Kendall Jenner, not Kylie Jenner (who’s more of a plastic butt-n’-tit Page 3 girl than traditional fashion model), but according to this Instagram post from last year, Janice is actually a Kendall fan:

I know, all credibility immediately lost. Anyway, Janice goes on to say:

“I mean, they are very pretty women, but they’re not supermodels,” she continued. “You see them in advertising and Vogue uses them because they have millions and millions and millions of followers… Vogue has the subscription of what 800,000 and Kylie Jenner has got like twenty-five million people following her, something like that. Never on the level of the girls from the seventies and eighties and the nineties, we were fabulous.”

Janice continued:

“They have one look, they don’t really diversify their movements. They just stand there. And get paid millions of dollars. Oh they are not fierce walkers.”

Ya know, Janice actually makes a pretty good point about runway walks and– huh? What’s that? She went on to slag off Tyra Banks (for the millionth time) and… Julie Andrews? OK, sure! Janice claims her old ANTM co-star Tyra Banks “doesn’t like women”:

“If you want to get in with Tyra, you compliment her 24/7,” she claimed. “And you know, you just have to be able to put up with that type of woman who only likes gay men. She did not like me. She didn’t like other women. She loved only like gay men.”

So, kiss-asses. Tyra likes kiss-asses. Which makes sense. She doesn’t need any pesky realists to poke holes in her “I’m an amazing host/actress/singer/mentor fantasy.

And here’s what Janice has to say about that bitch Julie Andrews:

“I once met Julie Andrews at UCLA and she was in this back room and I was politely waiting my turn in line to get a selfie and at least, you know, get an autograph.”

“And she, she stopped in front of me and she says, I’ve had enough. Thank you. And I was like ‘enough of what?’ I, I stood in this line to get your autograph politely. She was like, ‘well, I’m done. I’m tired.’ I was like, ‘fuck you, man. How Dare you. You can go Sound and Music elsewhere’. She’s a bitch. She hurt my feelings.”

Jesus Christ, I wish, wish, WISH that moment was filmed and exists somewhere on the dark web. Because when Janice gets angry, it’s extremely entertaining. Horrifying? Yes. Messy? Yes. Sad? You betcha. But undeniably entertaining:
