Amelia Hamlin Got Accused Of Blackfishing

19-year-old Amelia Hamlin is the daughter of Lisa Rinna and Harry Hamlin and is the latest teenage girlfriend of 37-year-old Scott Disick. And since Amelia is an adjacent member of the Kardashian universe, that means she probably received the Kardashian Starter Kit (a gallon of lead-based paint in a shade that’s five times darker than her natural skin tone, the latest copy of Photoshop,  a truck full of lip fillers, and a baby hairs tutorial). Amelia probably already had a lot of that stuff, but she put ’em to use. Amelia usually looks like the pic on the left, but she recently posted the pic on the right, which got her accused of blackfishing.

Blackfishing, a term partly coined by hip-hop journalist Wanna Thompson, is when non-Black influencers or famous types use bronzer, Photoshop, and other tools to look Black or mixed race. Well, SURPRISINGLY Kamelia Kardashian had to go ahead and turn off comments for this picture of her looking like a bootleg Larsa Pippen who is a bootleg Kardashian:

Amelia addressed the blackfishing backlash and tried to act like her skin just naturally darkened from sunbathing on vacation:

“I’m receiving a lot of comments in regards to my latest photo. I am being told that I am ‘black fishing’ – thank you all for educating me on this topic. I recently went on vacation in the sun, and with my Italian heritage I tan very easily. There is no self tanner involved. Or intention of looking darker than my own natural skin color. I had a lot of fun creating this look with no malice intention or offense.”

I wonder how long until Amelia’s “workouts” make her butt really big? Or until “contouring” shrinks her nasal passages? She better watch out though. If Amela gets any more Kardashian-looking, Khloé may actually have to harvest Amelia’s face for her collection.
