John Mayer Learned About Male Privilege While Watching “Framing Britney Spears”

John Mayer is 43 years old and has been involved in the music industry for over two decades. But recently he watched Framing Britney Spears and boy did he learn some new things! Speaking with Andy Cohen on Andy’s SiriusXM show Radio Andy, John explained that the documentary taught him that he’s had male privilege. It makes sense that John just came to that realization because as you know, this is a new topic!

John has been very open about his sexy times with women, including publicly calling ex-girlfriend Jessica Simpsonsexual napalm, which hurt her. John also dated Taylor Swift in 2009 when he was 32 and she was 19. Shit went so bad that Taylor wrote Dear John, a song about a manipulative older man who played with her heart and dropped her. John later said that the song humiliated him and called out Taylor for cheap songwriting. WOE IS POOR WIDDLE JOHN! John gained such a douche reputation for kissing and telling that publicists said they’d advise their actress clients to NOT date his ass. Well, watching Framing Britney Spears nearly brought John to tears and made him realize some things. via HuffPo:

“To go through this and come out the other side OK is to have infinite grace for those who struggle with it. I came out OK…. I have a very strong feeling that part of that is because I’m a man. And I have a very strong feeling that a lot of these things that happen to female performers is endemic to being female.”

John continued to praise Britney and said he had “such grace for [Britney], who got much more maligned by the inhuman experiment of fame than I did.” John also barely learned that men and women are treated differently in the media.

“If you’re a man, you’re an outlaw. If you’re a woman, you’re kind of crazy. And when I watched that through that lens, my heart just ached the whole time.”

Here’s the clip that historians will applaud for ending sexism:

John also said that he’s hoping to get himself a wife (poor wife) and kids (poor kids) in the near future:

“There’s one thing left, and that’s a wife and kids. I’ve come to a point in my life where, with this stuff, I’m not fatigued completely, but my hands are on my knees a little bit and I’m going, “OK, I definitely explored the life of what can be done for me by me.” So I don’t feel late, because I would never want to have a wife and kids while I was still investigating what’s out there for me to be explored by me.”

Now that John is fully woke and ready to start a family, the KKK should expect a resignation letter from his dick letting them know that it’s no longer a white supremacist.
