Tiger Woods Is Undergoing Surgery After Suffering Leg Injuries In A Rollover Car Crash

We haven’t heard too much from Tiger Woods in a while, and maybe that’s a good thing, considering the months between November 2009 to February 2010, there was enough Tiger Woods news to fill the PGA Tour’s largest, deepest sand trap. But here we are, with TMZ reporting that Tiger Woods was involved in a serious single-vehicle collision in Los Angeles County early this morning, and the crash was so bad, he had to be pulled from his car using the jaws of life.
Here’s what we have learned from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department. A little after 7:00 this morning, the LASD responded to a single-vehicle collision on the border of Rolling Hills Estates and Rancho Palos Verdes. Tiger’s SUV was traveling in a residential area when it crashed and rolled over, and the vehicle sustained “major damage.” Based on the pictures from the scene, it looks like he rolled down a hill.

Officials confirmed that there was only one passenger in the car, 45-year-old Tiger Woods, who they identified by his real name, Eldrick Woods. This is very helpful, considering it’s taken until 2021 for my dumb self to learn his legal birth certificate name isn’t Tiger.
The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department confirmed that Tiger had to be extracted from his vehicle, and after he was freed, he was rushed to the nearest hospital. TMZ points out that Tiger, who lives in Jupiter Island, Florida, was in the area for his annual Genesis Invitational golf tournament in the Pacific Palisades. Although that doesn’t quite explain what he was doing so far south in Rolling Hills, which is about an hour’s drive away from the Riviera Country Club, which is where his golf tournament is scheduled to be held.
Tiger’s agent Mark Steinberg says he’s currently in surgery to repair multiple leg injuries. Bleacher Report reports that Tiger’s injuries are considered “moderate to critical.”
An LA Country Sheriff’s Department spokesperson tells TMZ that they don’t believe alcohol was a factor in the crash, but they wouldn’t say whether any other substance is involved. And the reason that someone might ask that question is because Tiger Woods has a history of vehicle-based intoxication. Back in 2017, Tiger was arrested on Memorial Day weekend for a DUI in Florida. It was later revealed that he was fucked up on five different types of pills. And it’s not known if any substance played a role in his infamous 2009 Escalade crash, although Tiger himself claimed he was on Ambien.
Several of Tiger’s friends have spoken about the news of his crash, like player Justin Thomas, who said he was thinking of Tiger’s kids, and an orange-haired ghoul who shall not be named, who tells TMZ that Tiger is a “true champion” who he wishes will “get well soon.”
"I just hope he’s alright. Just worried for his kids. I’m sure they’re struggling"
