Prince Philip Will Stay In The Hospital A Few More Days

One week ago, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh and husband to Queen Elizabeth, was taken to the hospital because he wasn’t feeling well. It was reportedly not COVID related. I think we all assumed it was just “three months away from turning 100”-related. Now a Buckingham Palace spokesperson has shared an update: Philly has an infection and is expected to stay at the hospital for several more days. On the bright side, when you’re 99 years old, several days is merely a drop in the bucket of time.

The Buckingham Palace spokesperson said, via People:

The Duke of Edinburgh remains at King Edward VII’s Hospital where he is receiving medical attention for an infection,” the spokesperson said. “He is comfortable and responding to treatment but is not expected to leave hospital for several days.”

When Philip was admitted to the hospital, palace sources emphasized that it wasn’t an emergency situation, there was no ambulance, and the Duke was well enough to walk into the building himself. Prince Charles visited his ailing father over the weekend. And when Prince William was asked about the Duke’s health during a visit to a vaccine center yesterday (stealing extra vials to help keep Gramps immortal?), he replied, “He’s okay. They’re keeping an eye on him.”

Oh, I’ll bet they’re keeping an eye on him… an extreeemely close eye. Because if the Duke’s attending nurse lets her guard down for even one second, it’s just enough time for Philly to sink his fangs into her youthful neck and drain her of all her precious blood! I mean, his son IS a vampire.
