In DUH News, Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Are Officially Never Returning To Their Royal Roles

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are currently expecting their second child at the end of spring. And their firstborn, Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor, turns two in a few months. And they’ve got an interview with Oprah to prepare for. And they’ve got millions upon millions of dollars thanks to their deals with Netflix and Spotify. So they’ve got a lot going on, and it’s a shock to absolutely no one that they are retiring their hand-waving duties when it comes to being working royals. Buckingham Palace confirmed today that Harry and Meghan are done with being senior royals FOREVER, and the royal family is apparently “saddened” by this. Aw, don’t worry guys, Harry and Meghan may be permanently settled in California, but you still have that accused creep to keep you company!

Meghan and Harry clocked out of royal duties for the last time back in March of last year. It came after deliberations with THE QUEEN and was very-much planned. Their initial departure left room for them to return to royal duties at some point, but it really seemed like Meghan and Harry were out of that bitch for good. And they sure are! People says that the Palace released a statement today confirming that Meghan and Harry are never returning to their royal roles. The statement reads:

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have confirmed to Her Majesty The Queen that they will not be returning as working members of The Royal Family.

Following conversations with The Duke, The Queen has written confirming that in stepping away from the work of The Royal Family it is not possible to continue with the responsibilities and duties that come with a life of public service. The honorary military appointments and Royal patronages held by The Duke and Duchess will therefore be returned to Her Majesty, before being redistributed among working members of The Royal Family.

While all are saddened by their decision, The Duke and Duchess remain much loved members of the family.

While Harry and Meghan don’t use their titles, they will retain the His/Her Highness and Duke and Duchess of Sussex titles.

Harry is losing honorary military appointments, trusts, and patronages (which will revert to The Queen), but he’ll get to keep his Invictus Games Foundation, a Paralympic-style contest for service members which also incorporates the Endeavour Fund. As well as his personal charity, Sentebale, which was set up with Prince Seeiso of Lesotho, combatting the HIV/AIDS pandemic in southern Africa. And Harry still works with WellChild, an organization that helps sick children and their families. Meghan has her own host of charity shit she gets to keep too, like her animal welfare charity, Mayhew, and the Smart Works Charity, which helps women get professional attire for career opportunities.

Harry and Meghan also gave their own statement saying they:

“Remain committed to their duty and service to the U.K. and around the world, and have offered their continued support to the organizations they have represented regardless of official role… We can all live a life of service. Service is universal.”

Don’t cry for Harry and Meghan. They have a long career as podcasters ahead of them. But also… does this mean there’s an opening for a Prince in the UK? Is it on Indeed? And now that Harry and Meghan are permanently done with senior royal life, the Palace can work on taking away Pr*nc* A*dr*w’s titles. HAHAHAHA, yeah right. They posted this today on his birthday:
