Gina Carano Learned She Had Been Fired From “The Mandalorian” On Social Media

Former New York Times opinion writer Bari Weiss took time out of her busy schedule of complaining about “cancel culture” (she’s one of the people who signed that open letter published in Harper’s last summer) to complain about cancel culture, posting a defense of Gina Carano against charges of antisemitism. As such, Bari spoke to Gina to ask her what she really meant when she posted those Nazi comparison memes (among other abhorrent and unacceptable” things) that got her fired from Disney’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Since we already know Gina’s a disingenuous dumbass, I won’t bore you with her explanation about that, but we did learn that Gina only found out she’d been fired by Lucasfilms ”through social media, like everyone else,” which is objectively hilarious. You live by the tweet, you die by the tweet.

In Bari’s essay titled Gina Carano and Crowd-Sourced McCarthyism, which she published to her Substack, Gina claims that the trouble with her employer began when she was “pushed her to release a company-written apology statement” by Lucasfilm after adding “Beep/bop/boop” in her Twitter profile, a move that “appeared to mock transgender pronouns.Yahoo News reports:

“Earlier on last year before ‘The Mandalorian’ came out, they wanted me to use their exact wording for an apology over pronoun usage,” Carano said. “I declined and offered a statement in my own words. I made clear I wanted nothing to do with mocking the transgender community, and was just drawing attention to the abuse of the mob in forcing people to put pronouns in their bio.”

According to Carano, Lucasfilm’s reaction to her not using their apology statement was excluding her from all press and promotion for “The Mandalorian” Season 2.

“That was heartbreaking, but I didn’t want to take away from the hard work of everyone who worked on the project, so I said ok,” Carano added. “That was the last time I was contacted about any type of public statement or apology from Lucasfilm. I found out through social media, like everyone else, that I had been fired.”

Well, this is a sad consequence of being too dumb to read the writing on the wall, and in this case, it sounds like Lucasfilm spray-painted “THIS MEANS YOU’RE FIRED, GET IT?” and she still didn’t get it. Thankfully for Gina, she’s not going to have to resort to standing in the socialist bread line with Scott Baio. For someone who was canceled by a “totalitarian mob” (her words, I prefer “bossy bitches“), Gina sure stays #bookedandbusy. Immediately following the announcement that she had been fired from The Mandalorian, she announced she was hitting the Chachi circuit by teaming up with conservative media personality Ben Shapiro to produce and star in her own movie for The Daily Wire.

Just announced and already 25% off. Discount culture is destroying this country!
