It was a mere six days ago that we were talking about Aaron Rodgers and Shailene Woodley’s reported status as quarantine’s latest couple. The story quickly evolved from Aaron and Shailene keeping it casual and dating long-distance style, to Aaron ever-so-casually dropping that he got engaged on live television as he delivered his acceptance speech after being named the NFL’s MVP for 2020. Aaron didn’t say who he was engaged to, but most people figured that Shailene had been upgraded from casual girlfriend to nameless fiancée. And now, People magazine is confirming what everyone thought was up, which is that Aaron and Shailene are engaged.
People says that multiple sources have confirmed to them that 37-year-old Aaron and 29-year-old Shailene are headed towards getting married. And yes, even one of People’s sources is acknowledging this engagement seems to have happened at light speed:
“They are very happy together,” the source says. “It’s not surprising he proposed so fast. When you know, you know, right?”
This is all very surprising for anyone who remembers that it was just about a year ago when Shailene explained that her relationship with Fijian rugby player Ben Volavola ended because he thought things were heading towards marriage, and she wasn’t ready to hitch her horse to that wagon just yet. She clearly has an interest in getting married now.
Speaking of moving fast, if no one was surprised that Aaron pushed a ring on Shailene’s finger so quickly, then no one should really be that surprised if we suddenly find out that – surprise! – Aaron and Shailene got married. Usually, people take a couple of months to plan a wedding, but these two move fast. That means wedding suppliers and services that might be relevant to their interests would be smart to get a head start on their upcoming celebration. Is there a formal version of those cheese hats they wear in Wisconsin? There is now, and someone better get sewing! Just estimate the circumference of Aaron’s head, it will be fine. And Shailene is likely going to need a custom-pair of wedding shoes when she walks down the aisle. Do the good people at Vibram make bridal toe shoes? I strongly suggest they source some bridal white vulcanized rubber and tasteful lace appliqué neoprene immediately.
