Open Post: Hosted By Jennifer Lopez Semi-Recreating The Video For “Love Don’t Cost A Thing”
Jennifer Lopez decided to do a bit of a reshoot of her 2000 song Love Don’t Cost A Thing from her second album which gave her the name JLo. It’s been twenty years since JLo has released her album so this was her way of honoring it. And it’s nice to see that in a short Instagram video with a production budget bigger than my monthly earnings, Jennifer is still pretending she would date a broke man.
51-year-old JLo is of course engaged to 45-year-old Alex Rodriguez who made an estimated $475 million over the course of his major league baseball career. But listen, if he was fighting off angry knife-wielding Popeyes customers looking for chicken sandwiches 9-5, she would still be into him! …So she claims. Harper’s Bazaar says that using the hashtags “#SameGirl” and “#MyLoveDontCostAThing,” Jennifer wanted to thank everyone for the support over the last two decades. Yeah, we really keep her employed and living her all-white fantasy, don’t we?
Jennifer’s video of course is also simultaneously an ad for JLo Beauty because she sure does look like the same girl. Her allegedly Botox-free skin is flawless. Oh, also she hashtagged JLo Beauty because she’s gonna do that with everything from here on out, sis. And she challenged others to do the recreation with another clever hashtag “#LoveDontCostAThingChallege.”
Hmmm, I mean… sure. Jennifer Lopez is absolutely Haven’t-Driven-In-25-Years-But-Still-Own-A-$146,000-Car Rich, but sure–I’ll believe she’s the #SameGirl and would date a regular Joe. I also believe JLo Beauty and olive oil are the only reason her skin looks like that.
Here’s the original video for Love Don’t Cost A Thing where JLo gets mad at a man for sending her a bracelet instead of being with her because the last thing she needs is another bracelet. Then she storms out of her ocean-view mansion and drives away in her hundred-thousand-dollar car in the middle of the day because she’s fucking rich and doesn’t have a job to be at, so she can throw a hissy fit at 1 in the afternoon. But listen if that wasn’t the case, she’d be fine with it. Hashtag-same girl!
