After Kelly Clarkson ripped the life out of Steve Harvey‘s shitstain of a show and took his TV spot, there are rumors that she may take another slot. Ellen DeGeneres may have another thing to worry about on top of her absolutely tarnished image as Page Six says that Kelly may be getting her time slot. What Doesn’t Kill You Makes You Stronger, unless what doesn’t kill you is Kelly Clarkson–she’s the bone collector!
Ellen DeGeneres’ “be kind” image was really shot to shit over the summer after she got and her show got hit with accusations of harassment and sexual misconduct. Ellen had to start her most recent season with an apology, and three producers lost their jobs over it. Well, the downward spiral is not done yet.
There’s reportedly one year left on Ellen’s contract and she’s going to enter into network negotiations next month. She’s had a ratings slip of 8% and now that The Kelly Clarkson Show seems to have found its rhythm and became the most-watched new daytime talk show in seven years, it may be a viable replacement for Ellen‘s 3 pm time slot.
Sources say that NBC chiefs “wooed” Kelly “for years” before she agreed to the show, so they obviously like her lots. And other people do too, the show won three Daytime Emmys last year–including Kelly getting best entertainment talk show host. And last month, The Kelly Clarkson Show, hit their highest ratings and matched Ellen‘s numbers for the first time. But apparently, the Ellen producers are ready for a fight.
However, “Ellen” show producers at Telepictures want to keep the prestigious time slot, as a source told us: “Telepictures knows Ellen wants out, but execs want to keep the time slots and put another host in her place.”
The source further said, “Kelly would likely get Ellen’s time slots, but Telepictures will fight to keep them.”
Reps for the show didn’t respond to a request from Page Six for comment.
Oh, I’m sure Ellen’s “amazing staff” is rooting for her keeping her time slot and none of them have emailed Kelly Clarkson’s production team their resumes. None at all.
