Martha Stewart Swears She Didn’t Jump The Line To Get Her COVID-19 Vaccine

As everyone knows, priority for the COVID-19 vaccine is being given to front line workers and essential-type people. But also to old people. Well, Martha Stewart recently revealed that she got the shot, and it had a lot of people wondering if her only qualification was having a big fat bank account, or the ability to make a triage nurse ask, “Wait, THE Martha Stewart??“. According to Martha, no – she came by that vaccine honestly and fairly.

Martha posted the picture above to her Instagram account yesterday and explained in the caption that she was given the COVID vaccine in an inoculation pod at the Martha Stewart Center for Living at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. Martha claims that she waited in line, just like everyone else. And also, that being 79 technically certifies her as old, and older people get the vaccine first.

“The doctors told me 10,000 applications were received by Mount Sinai right after the state released this batch of vaccines. Here’s to the advancement of science and a heartfelt thanks to those working on the vaccines…To allay your concerns that I jumped the line know that I am in the approved age group for this batch of vaccines and I waited in line with others.”

According to The New York Times, people above the age of 65 are considered to be “high risk,” so yes, Martha Stewart is in that high-risk category. Despite the fact that she’s also pretty damn low risk too. Martha has been isolating at her 150-acre estate in Bedford, New York, where her greatest risk is catching is too many phone numbers from sexy septuagenarian pool selfies, or testing positive for drunken commenting.

However, that doesn’t mean Martha doesn’t deserve the vaccine or shouldn’t get it as soon as she can. Everyone deserves the vaccine! And being 79, well – that does put you higher on the list than lower. But even though Martha swears she had to wait in line, she can’t act like it was a totally fair-and-square situation. She got vaccinated at the Martha Stewart Center for Living. Call me a tinfoil hat-wearing conspiracy theorist, but I think I know how Martha got her foot in the door. It’s her own damn door. It’s called the Martha Stewart Center for Living, not the Martha Stewart Center for Catching Corona.
