Some People Are Side-Eyeing Kylie Jenner For Selling Hand Sanitizer In A Pandemic
About two weeks into the start of the COVID-19 lockdown last year, Kylie Jenner announced that she and Coty Inc., who is a major shareholder in Kylie Cosmetics and Kylie Skin, began manufacturing hand sanitizer, that they planned to donate to hospitals in Southern California. But since then, it would appear Kylie’s enthusiasm for generosity might have disappeared like the lines and visible definition on Khloé’s face. Because Kylie has launched a $7 bottle of alcohol sanitizer spray through her Kylie Skin line. And that has some people wondering if the pandemic is really the time for an already disgustingly rich woman to make money off hand sanitizer.
Kylie Skin launched the hand sanitizer spray yesterday, and it’s basically just a 2 oz. pink bottle of 80% alcohol spray. All for $7, plus taxes and shipping. It’s a great product for people who don’t know you can get a 32 oz. jug from CVS for a couple bucks more. It’s been available on her website for about 24 hours.
That price tag got a few people more than a little pissed off. Kyle reportedly made $590 million this year alone. Her net worth is located somewhere around the $1 billion mark, give or take a couple hundred million dollars. Some people on the internet thought it was very tone deaf for a woman who doesn’t need the money, to shill a $7 bottle of sanitizer to her loyal product-hoarding cult members. And especially since it was launched right after the news broke that people were finally going to get a $600 stimulus check coming their way.

But of course, some people pointed out that Kylie is far from the only capitalist pig who has been attempting to profit off of the pandemic.
Hope you’re having the same energy for all the corporations who didn’t make masks and hand sanitizers that now are.

She’s also not the only one in her own family, either. Kim Kardashian’s Skims line began selling 4 face masks for $25 at the start of the pandemic.
On the upside, if I had to say something good about Kylie’s decision to sell hand sanitizer, I guess it would be that it’s nice to finally see her care about something that effects us all? Yes it’s way too expensive for the amount you get. But please, remember – she’s a mother, and that is expensive. What if little Stormi wants another $200,000 pony? Come on Kylie, sell that sani! Just 28,572 bottles to meet that new pony goal!
