Hilary Duff Claimed She Got An Eye Infection From Lots Of Covid Tests But Doctors Are Like, “Huh?”

33-year-old Hilary Duff made some interesting coronavirus claims on social media but don’t worry, she’s not Gia Gunn. Hilary knows what’s up with coronavirus… sort of. Hilary posted about how her holiday activities included a visit to the emergency room for an eye infection, which she believes she got from taking so many coronavirus tests for work.

Hilary, who is pregnant with her third child and her second with husband Matthew Koma, is currently filming the seventh season of Younger in NYC. And so like all productions shooting during the pandemic, they have to take precautions including regular testing. Hilary had to quarantine last November after she was “exposed” to coronavirus. And now Hilary claims that getting all those swabs shoved up her nose hole left her with an eye infection. During the holidays, Hilary said in an Instagram Story that she had to take a little trip to the ER and learned she messed up her eye from getting tested so much:

Hilary revealed that she took some antibiotics and her eye is fine now. Some doctors heard about this and wondered what the fuck Hilary was actually talking about. Metro UK spoke to a couple of doctors with opinions:

Dr Claudia Pastides, Babylon GP, told Metro.co.uk: “I don’t know the details of Hilary’s eye infection but her comment “My eye is fine, needed antibiotics” implies that she probably was diagnosed with a bacterial conjunctivitis (eye infection)… Covid-19 is a virus and not a bacteria that causes eye infections… I’m not sure how you’d catch a bacterial eye infection from doing multiple Covid-19 tests. The tests are done by placing a swab into your throat and nose and require you to wash your hands well before and after.”

Dr Keith Grimes, Babylon GP, simply responded of the risks associated: “The swab can be a little uncomfortable, but if done as described presents no risks.”

Hopefully, someone figures out the relation between Hilary’s eye and the coronavirus testing. I mean imagine this happens somewhere else? If someone on Mission: Impossible VII gets an eye infection and holds up productionTom Cruise will skin them alive!
