Hilaria Baldwin Is Taking A Break From Social Media, While Alec Baldwin Swears Vengeance On Her Haters

As everyone knows by now, Hilaria Baldwin, a vaguely-accented Spanish yoga instructor and Alec Baldwin’s wife, was revealed to actually be Hillary Hayward-Thomas of Boston, Massachusetts. Hilaria responded to the online chatter, by saying that she never actually claimed to have been born in Spain, but that she was raised equally in Boston and Spain, is a “white girl,” and that sometimes her speech is messy because she’s bilingual and has a hard time speaking clearly. Her explanation was almost as dubious as her accent, but she’s leaving it at that for now, because she’s taking a break from social media.
Not too long after Hilaria tried to explain her vanishing accent and suspiciously unclear biography, she hopped back on Instagram and released a second video that serves as a perfect example of my favorite quote from Judge Judy: “If you tell the truth, then you don’t have to have a good memory.” via Page Six:
“When I was growing up, in this country I would use the name Hillary, and in Spain I would use Hilaria and my family, my parents, call me Hilaria.” She said “it always bothered” her that neither name sounded good in both languages.
“Yes I am a white girl, my family is white…Europe has a lot of white people in them. Ethnically I am a mix of many, many things.” She also called herself a “different kind of Bostonian…you can’t change your background and nor would I want to…this is who I am, and this is my life story…it’s my weird mix of who I am.”
Hilaria Baldwin announces social media break after receiving backlash and sparking memes for ‘faking’ her Spanish heritage and accent.

Hilaria also shared texts in Spanish she says came from her brother:

But Hilaria’s promise of immediately vanishing from social media was a lie. After she posted her declaration of a temporary disappearance, she continued to post pictures of her kids, or the “Baldwinitos,” a name that could use some re-branding, in light of the circumstances. But maybe at some point in time during her self-imposed social media hiatus, she could schedule a phone conference with her agents, and just let them know that someone might want to go into her CAA website bio and change this relevant piece of info:
And Hilaria’s husband and stepdaughter also jumped to her defense. Ireland Baldwin, Alec’s 25-year-old daughter from his marriage to Kim Basinger, decided to hop onto Instagram and defend her stepmother in an Instagram Story, by writing that it’s “sad and pathetic” that the internet was teaming up to take down her lovely stepmother. via Just Jared:
“It’s so pathetic that anyone would want to play detective and dig that deep into someone’s life they don’t know anything about, don’t know how they were raised, don’t know who they were actually raised by. It’s just kind of sad and pathetic. And also, it’s like the holidays, people are depressed, people are going through a lot. I know I’m going through a lot personally. And the last thing we really need to do is start shit and gossip about something is just so, so stupid. And about someone that nobody even really knows. She could be a malicious, terrible, horrible human who tears people down but she isn’t. Hilaria is a wonderful mother who takes great care of her kids and she takes great care of my dad and that’s all that really matters to me.”
Ugh, the nerve of some people! Calling someone out on their lies and bullshit over the holidays? At least wait until the new year. Or never do it at all, if you were to follow the advice of Alec Baldwin. Alec released an eight-and-a-half minute long video wishing people a happy holiday, before diving straight into a rant about his wife’s situation and how the media is evil. Alec calls out Facebook, calling it “a corporation you should avoid” and “crap,” before saying he prefers Instagram (I hate to be the assistant that tells Alec who owns Instagram). He then accuses Twitter of letting people say whatever they want, and accuse whoever they want of whatever, with no recourse. Of the “venom and hate” against the “people I love,” he calls it all “just ridiculous,” and assures us all he will “defend” that person he loves. And because the man is nothing if not a fan of repetition, Alec repeatedly urges everyone over and over to “consider the source.”
Alec seems really mad in that video. He’s so angry, I kept waiting for him to call us all rude, thoughtless little pigs. And all that pent-up rage might be the reason why he wasn’t quite making sense. Consider the source? Consider the source? Alec, at this point in time, the source is Hilaria’s birth certificate.
