Leah Remini Says That Tom Cruise’s COVID-19 Rant Was All For Show, And Scientologists Don’t Believe In The Pandemic

Last week a recording of Tom Cruise losing his shit on the set of Mission: Impossible VII was leaked. Public response wasn’t all that terrible, since it seemed Tom was freaking out in the name of COVID-19 safety. But former Scientologist Leah Remini took note of some of the positive press Tom received after his screaming fit and replied, “Bullshit, Thy Name Is Messiah Cruise!” She wrote a statement outlining exactly why Tommy’s COVID rant was PR baloney. Leah’s main point was that Scientologists don’t even believe in the pandemic or sickness. She also pointed out that Tom throws similar tantrums when “an assistant had the audacity to serve him a drink in a chipped mug.”

You can read Leah’s whole statement on Tony Ortega’s blog, but here are some highlights:

Tom Cruise claimed he does not get so much as a cold because of Scientology. All Scientologists believe that if they aren’t connected to what they label “suppressive persons” they will not get sick.

According to Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard, “All illnesses to a greater or lesser degree stem from a PTS situation.” PTS stands for “Potential Trouble Source.”

A “PTS” is a person who is connected to a suppressive person or a suppressive group. They are so screwed up by their connection to the “SP” they have potential to be trouble to themselves and more importantly, to Scientology.

Leah explains that Scientologists get in trouble when they’re sick. They’re sent to the Ethics department. If you have anything from a common cold to cancer it means you’ve been connected to an SP (anyone/anything who exposes Scientology). The higher-ups will interrogate you to see if you’ve spent time with an SP or even read anything anti-Scientologist:

That could mean speaking to your own child who spoke out against the abuses he or she received in Scientology. And after they find “the why,” which is the reason for your illness, they then make you handle the situation, which means disconnecting from the person or group who they label an enemy.

Just lovely. Leah explains the difference between SP (the true baddies) and PTS (who could just be connected to SPs). For example, Katie Holmes is an SP, while Suri Cruise, 14, may just be a PTS person because she’s controlled by an SP. Either way, Suri could be “potential trouble” to a “pure Scientologist” like Tom. Luckily, Tom is such an elite being, he can “fight” PTS-ness rubbing off. So he could have a limited connection to PTS for PR reasons (or to lure her back into the fold). Non-celebrity/non-rich Scientologists don’t get that privilege.

Leah says Scientology leader David Miscavige has likened COVID to “a planetary bullbait”. Scientology bullbaiting is an exercise when a coach and student sit and face each other. The coach insults and verbally abuses the student, trying to find “buttons” that provoke a reaction like crying, laughing, or wincing. If the student reacts, they fail, and must repeat the drill until there is no reaction:

If there is no reaction, the coach digs more and more until the coach finds the buttons that make the student react. There are no limits to this drill, and it usually goes into sexual and abusive content.

And then it is turned around, the student becomes the coach and then returns the favor. So the statement from leader of the Church of Scientology that COVID is a bullbait means it’s only a drill invented to make us all react, and Scientologists shouldn’t be reacting to a global pandemic but rather just going on with life as normal in their dedication to Scientology and their daily activities.

So according to Scientology, COVID is a bullshit drill invented by… somebody (the Thetans?) to make people react. Leah says if you see Scientologists wearing masks or supporting charities or, I dunno, freaking out on set about COVID restrictions, it’s all an act for good publicity (so Tom would seem like he cares about family values and COVID). Leah goes on to say that Tom’s freak out is indicative of the real him (an abusive prick):

Tom’s reaction that was released yesterday shows his true personality. He is an abusive person. I witnessed it, I’ve been a recipient of it on a small level, and I’ve been told of similar abuse by his former girlfriend, his employees, and his friends. This is the real Tom. This was the same reaction Tom gave his household staff when they did not have the right ingredients for him to make chocolate chip cookies. This is the same type of tirade Tom launched into when an assistant had the audacity to serve him a drink in a chipped mug.

She adds that Tom doesn’t care about Scientologists being abused. When his Scientologist assistant asked to work fewer hours to raise their children, Tom sent reports to the church to rat on them. They were then interrogated for months about their “evil undisclosed intentions towards Tom”, and forced to pay thousands and thousands of dollars. Leah says Tom doesn’t care about the families of the crew, and she wouldn’t be surprised if the rant was purposely leaked. She says this isn’t your typical asshole actor rant, and her mind is blown that anyone actually fell for this.

She also adds that it’s not Tom’s job to address safety codes onset; there are COVID officers and producers who could have dealt with that. Tom was simply abusing his power as a big-time movie star, and the whole time was very “small dick energy.” Leah adds, “Imagine if this were a woman. She would be called a lunatic.” Hear, hear!

Hopefully Tom’s alleged new piece Hayley Atwell gets wise to all of this. Or maybe it’s too late, and Tom is already subjecting her to nightly audits on the e-meter. Hey, on the plus side, if she’s Mrs. Messiah, she’ll never get sick again!
