Britney Spears’ Father Claims He Hasn’t Spoken To Her Since August
The spiraling sad saga that is Britney Spears‘ conservatorship battle continues. Britney has been in a legal battle with her father, Jamie Spears, over being in charge of her money and life decisions. Britney has been trying to get her father completely removed from her conservatorship and her case files revealed to the public. Jamie has been shitting on that idea and has shot back at Britney’s lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham, for speaking for Britney. Jamie argued that Samuel shouldn’t be the exclusive voice of Britney and Britney needs to be heard. And now, Jamie claims he hasn’t spoken to Britney since August and that it’s because Samuel is keeping her from him.
Samuel has said that his client, Britney Spears, is actually afraid of her father and that she’s refused to ever perform again so long as he’s involved with her career. Jamie has denied such a thing, but legally-speaking Britney’s camp has really shot down all of Jamie’s propositions, like when she said she did not want her father bringing Andrew Wallet into her conservatorship. But apparently, it’s all made up lies by Samuel who has taken hold of Britney… or something. CNN spoke to Jamie who said that he was protecting his daughter from “those with self-serving interests.”
“I love my daughter and I miss her very much. When a family member needs special care and protection, families need to step up, as I have done for the last 12-plus years, to safeguard, protect and continue to love Britney unconditionally. I have and will continue to provide unwavering love and fierce protection against those with self-serving interests and those who seek to harm her or my family.”
According to Jamie, he was on “good terms” with her daughter until August. But once Samuel filed for removal of Jamie as conservator, that’s when communication cut. Jamie’s attorney, Vivian Lee Thoreen, also pointed a finger at Samuel:
“Jamie’s relationship with Britney is not that different than your average father-daughter relationship insofar as there has always been a mutual love and respect for each other. Until Britney’s court-appointed attorney Sam Ingham abruptly instructed Jamie not to contact Britney a few months ago, Jamie and Britney had spoken often and regularly throughout the entire conservatorship. In fact, they had spoken just the day before and had had a pleasant and collaborative conversation.”
Samuel didn’t respond to CNN because of ongoing litigation and a source close to Britney told CNN she does still face ongoing challenges with her mental health. Previously, Samuel had argued that Britney didn’t have the capability to represent herself. Also note, Britney’s mom, Lynne Spears, is on Team Britney and agrees her father should be removed from the conservatorship.
There’s another hearing scheduled today and Jamie’s handling of Britney’s assets will be reviewed by the court.
