Miley Cyrus Celebrated The 10th Anniversary Of Her Bong Moment

Yesterday, Miley Cyrus celebrated the 10th anniversary of her OH SO SHOCKING bong-smoking moment from when she was 18. The infamous bong incident sparked a big controversy for Miley which had her dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, commenting on Twitter and Miley apologizing up and down for disappointing her fans. Honestly, it made me a fan of hers. Well, Miley is celebrating and a girl who was at the party spilled some tea from the event all these years later.

Pop Culture Died In 2009 posted a thread commemorating the moment Miley made her boss Mickey Mouse clutch his pearls while entering into the biggest controversy of her career, pre-Robin Thicke. Oh, she was just being Miley!

The video caught Miley’s attention and she reposted it free of shame. Miley is a hardcore girl now, so she doesn’t care about smoking anything. She wrote:

“Happy 10 year anniversary to the groundbreaking video of a teenager smoking a bong & saying dumb shit to their friends. (Not sure the director of this fine film should be considered a “friend” but…) Time really flew by. I remember this like it was yesterday….. J/K I don’t remember shit cause I was fucked the hell up.”

Of course, Miley Cyrus says she’s sober now and her salvia-smoking days are likely behind her. And Katie Santry, the girl in the video eating Corn Flakes, stepped up to the plate and told us the behind-the-scenes tea. She was the proprietor of the biggest Jonas Brothers fansite at the time (what a claim to fame! What a title! What an accomplishment!) and so she was in with the Disney gliteratti:

“Wow, Miley posting that just takes me back… can I just say? So that was at my boyfriend at the time Miles house. And he was friends with a lot of the Disney stars and so was I because I worked with the Jonases and he did commercial acting and uh… I could not stand Miley Cyrus. She was so obnoxious, I mean watch that video. I was in the room because it was Miley Cyrus and I was like wow this is cool she’s sitting on my boyfriend’s bed. …But the coolest thing was when I introduced myself to her she knew who I was and I about shit myself because I was shocked that she knew who I was. And I was kind of standing in the corner eating my Corn Flakes and when she yelled at me like “Give me those Corn Flakes!” I was scared, I was like fuck Miley asked for my Corn Flakes she can have my Corn Flakes. But Miley was like: “I was just kidding, I was just kidding.” But the girl who recorded it worked with me… and she was also BFFs with Demi Lovato. And she is the one–I think–who sold the video. Cause she was a really shitty friend. She basically was that girl who was friends with Miley and Demi and was just trying to ride on their coattails and go to the cool parties and hang out with the cool celebrities–she was a piece of shit. I love that Miley posted that. I remember the day after that party I got a call from TMZ… But as long as I gave them Miles’ phone number they said they would black my face out so I didn’t get in trouble from Mr. Jonas.”

Miley Cyrus has come so far from caring about smoking salvia. She got married, got divorced, had a couple of rebound relationships, gyrated on everything from people to wrecking balls, and that tongue-action just will not quit ever. She’s truly all grown up.
