Kellogg’s and Disney’s Color-Changing Aladdin Spoons!

To promote the release of Aladdin (the original cartoon movie, not the live-action one with Will Smith looking like fucked-up cousin of Jambi from Pee-wee’s Playhouse), Disney got together with Kellogg’s for a spoon that blew minds away more than a spoon full of coke does. They filled boxes of Froot Loops with extremely magical spoons that changed color when dipped in cold milk. “Ugh, honey, grab the spatula and ladder, because our kid’s blown mind got stuck to the ceiling again. Those damned Aladdin spoons” was probably said by many a mother in the 90s.

Kellogg’s and Disney released four color-changing Aladdin spoons. There was an Aladdin one, a Princess Jasmine one, an Iago one, and an Abu one. And they changed color when you dipped them in milk while eating your Froot Loops. Here’s a Froot Loops commercial and at the end, it shows a kid being wowed by her spoon changing from yellow to orange:

Listen, the 90s were a simpler time when we were simpler people who were wowed by a plastic spoon slightly changing color. We’re totally above that now (cut to me spending my entire afternoon losing my mind while using my hot breath to change the color of an old Hypercolor t-shirt of mine from the olden days).
