Elle Macpherson Promoted An Anti-Vaxx Film Made By Her Anti-Vaxx Boyfriend

While a whole lot of us are reliving the rush of the cola wars by watching Pfizer and Moderna race to get another extra 1% of efficacy on their potential COVID vaccine, Elle Macpherson is apparently saying, “No thanks, none for me!” And that’s because it would appear that she’s showing the signs of being someone who is, how you say, of the Jessica Biel mentality. Elle is still dating the disgraced former doctor who was responsible for that 1998 study that falsely linked vaccines to autism. And now she’s apparently doing promo work for him too.

56-year-old Elle has been dating 63-year-old Andrew Wakefield for over two years now, and you will know Andrew from his previous career as a British doctor who falsely claimed vaccines cause autism. Andrew’s Lancet study has been the go-to cited source for anti-vaxxers for decades, and he’s no longer legally allowed to practice medicine in the UK because they deemed him too much of a fraud. Fun! And Elle is smitten with him, and his crazy, fraudulent, harmful theories. And all this would be just a side-note in the relationship status of two somewhat relevant people, except that we’re currently in the middle of a global health pandemic, which we desperately want a vaccine for. Prepare to be shocked to learn that Andrew and Elle’s dum-dum ideas about medicine extend to the COVID-19 pandemic as well.

The Daily Mail says that Andrew and Elle recently appeared in North Carolina for a screening of an anti-vaccine documentary-ish movie he made (which The Daily Mail says Andrew claims was partially funded by Justin Timberlake). Elle was there to introduce Andrew before he spoke, and she reportedly said that his anti-needle film couldn’t have come at a better time.

“You made this film during Covid, and it’s interesting because it’s such beautiful, sacred timing when you watch the film, because it’s so pertinent and so relevant…And for it to come in this divine time where vaccination and mandatory vaccination is on everybody’s lips.”

Elle made that comment in a country that has so far seen nearly 13 million infected and more than 260,000 dead. So mandatory vaccination is on everybody’s lips because everyone is tired of covering theirs with protective masks.

Andrew Wakefield is anti-vaccination of course, but it sounds like he’s also a COVID denier, or at least one of those COVID assholes who should stop while he’s behind. The Daily Mail says that Andrew has referred to COVID-19 as, “WuFlu” (and not in a satirical Borat 2 way), has claimed the death toll has been “greatly exaggerated,” and that the effects of the pandemic have been “based on a fallacy,” whatever that means. Honestly, the only real, true fact here is that Elle is lucky the nickname at the height of her career was “The Body.” Because if for some reason it had been “The Mind,” we’d all be having way too much fun laughing at the irony right now.
