Lil Wayne Is Facing Up To 10 Years In Prison On Federal Weapons Charges

The internet let out a collective “oh, thaaaat’s why” upon hearing the news that Donald Trump’s fifth-best Black friend, Lil Wayne (Herman Cain’s death bumped him up the list right under Candace Owens), is facing up to 10 years in prison on federal weapons charges. We all know that Donald tends to be pretty liberal with that presidential pardon pen and since Kim Kardashian West’s legal career seems to have stalled out, he probably decided to represent himself in Trump Court, by courting Trump.

According to TMZ:

Lil Wayne’s just been hit with a federal weapons charge and could face serious prison time if convicted.

The U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida has charged the rapper with 1 count of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Weezy — who was convicted of a felony gun charge in NY back in 2009 — faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

Well, if 50 Cent is telling the truth, Wayne can use some of the $1 million that Trump allegedly gave him to pay his lawyer fees.

TMZ reports that the charges stem from a December 2019 incident where federal agents searched his plane at Miami-Opa Locka Executive Airport when it stopped there on its way to California after “agents got a tip on possible drugs being transported.” The feds found guns and drugs on the plane but let Lil Wayne go on his merry way at the time. But since the ‘lil fella is a convicted felon (Wayne pleaded guilty to felony weapons charges in New York back in 2009 for which he was sentenced to a year in prison), that shit didn’t just go away. Rolling Stone adds:

TMZ first reported the charge, which the rapper’s attorney, Howard Srebnick, confirmed to Rolling Stone. “Carter is charged with possessing a gold-plated handgun in his luggage on a private plane,” Srebnick said in a statement. “There is no allegation that he ever fired it, brandished it, used it or threatened to use it. There is no allegation that he is a dangerous person. The charge is that because he was convicted of a felony in the past, he is prohibited from possessing a firearm.”

Now that Trump has lost the election, Wayne’s best Orange friend can’t help him now. I guess both Wayne and Trump fatally miscalculated the power of the Platinum Plan to garner votes. Sounds like they should have gone with the Gold Plate Plan instead. Now they both have egg on their faces but in Wee Wayne’s case, you can’t really tell given the fact that his face looks like a Richard Scarry’s Busytown coloring book that’s been passed around the preschool a few too many times. And it’s a race to see who ends up in prison first!
