“The Matrix 4” Cast And Crew Reportedly Got Around COVID-19 Rules By Disguising A Wrap Party As A Film Shoot

The people working on the fourth Matrix movie have allegedly pulled a Kim Kardashian West and partied it up during coronavirus lockdown. But they didn’t need a private island to avoid disease. The Matrix 4 recently wrapped filming in Germany and they got around the country’s partial lockdown, which started at the beginning of the month, by throwing a party scene for the movie which really wasn’t for the movie. Technicalities: they only work for the privileged!

Page Six says that on November 2, Germany’s four-week partial lockdown started, which closed bars, restaurants, and theaters and also outlawed large gatherings. The Matrix 4 finished filming a few days after that, so they code-named the event “Ice Cream Team Event” and pretended they were shooting for the movie and not hosting a large gathering.

The internet’s boyfriend, Keanu Reeves, and his girlfriend, Alexandra Grant, were both in attendance at the event which saw the entire cast and crew live it up for a wrap party. Nearly 200 movie people partied at Studio Babelsberg in Potsdam, Germany. And it was an event. There were no holograms, but it’s The Matrix so they were all probably exhausted from plugging their brains into a computer system for 16 hours a day and just wanted some real-life stuff.

They were treated to a pyrotechnics and dance performance, a DJ playing on a packed dance floor, tattoo stations inside caravans, several bars serving wine and sake, a sushi and dessert station (sans red or blue pills) and cushioned Bedouin tents, German newspaper Bild reported.

One attendee said:

“The mood was exuberant. There was a rapid [COVID-19] test for everyone in advance. Everyone had to come with a mask, but many didn’t wear them later.”

A spokeswoman for Studio Babelsberg, Bianca Makarewicz, said:

“According to the production, it was the last day of shooting. It was a celebration scene… Hygiene requirements were adhered to. The production deliberately put this shoot with many people involved at the end of the shoot.”

Page Six says that their sources say there was no filming actually going on, and Warner Bros. (who distributes The Matrix) had no comment. Postham’s health department has strict rules for gatherings.

“Indoor events are only allowed after registration, with an approved hygiene concept and a maximum of 50 people with masks and distance.”

And a Potsdam spokesperson said their health department will look into the party. It’s not enough for the American youth to be killing their own people by continuing to party hard during a pandemic, but now we have American movie studios throwing ragers overseas?! And poor native German Heidi Klum, canceled Halloween just for some Americans to show up on her turf and party up anyway? The audacity! The Matrix people should really think of the rest of us. Some of us are actually afraid of dying. We can’t all duplicate our consciousness into a cybernetic mainframe!
